On of the greatest moments of television history. And it would honestly make me by stock in Fdev.
@Buur Pit WILL do it.Flash mob in the Concourse would be pretty cool…
A spiral would be great (with a jump from the end of the list to the beginning). That would be also great for consumables (health pack, energy cell,...).The wheel is a problem in my eyes. As it kind of feel like "here you are, 8 emotes, the wheel is full, we are done".
Maunsel House in spaceI can think of a couple of good reasons to flash at that mob....
Probably making it optional keybinding would not hurt as well as something like "last used emote".I don't think so. Keybindings we need for combat related stuff and so on. I don't plan on using emotes in such an environment... not much dancing and prancing while being shot at. In any environment where i would use emotes, i would be perfectly fine with the traditional /emote from other MMOs.
Supposedly, pointing at a target and having it show up on your teammate's HUDs is a thing, and that could be very useful in-combat. And that is certainly not something you want to be navigating yet another radial menu to achieve at that time.
I also see some need in a tool, which can mark certain targets and optionally share their positions with your teammates. Or even some sort of tactical map tool for quick navigation in combat zones and coordinating team actions (so to mark positions on battlefield), but that's another story...But when pointing at things, there is no emote. But on control you switch from your weapon to a laser pointer. You point at something and click. Depending on what you point it at, it places an appropriate marker and gives matching information to the whole team.
In a system with 18+ permit lock?

That's a really good idea actually. It’d be nice if, when you first land at a settlement on a delivery mission and get scanned by a guard, if you cooperate with the scan you get an option to converse with them and ask them where the thing you’re looking for is. Maybe you could ask them:
“Could you direct me to the nearest terminal?”
“Could you direct me to a charging port?”
“Could you direct me to <container X>? I’m commissioned to make a pickup.”
Each would result in your waypoint being updated. Just little things like that. Maybe you can ask how things are around there and depending on the system state they’ll say that things are on edge with the conflict in the system, X is in high demand at the moment, and so on. It’d make NPCs both more useful and a little more “alive.” They’re supposed to be people living on the edge of the frontier with their own concerns, this way they wouldn’t exist merely to get shot at so you can take their stuff.
I also figure that settlements would send guards to meet any ship as it docked, scan you, have you state your business, and potentially escort you if they don’t know you. But that might be complicating things a bit. That's a really good idea actually.
