Not sure if it counts as a correction but, for context, Elite was released as part of the Microsoft early access programme and announced as a marquee item at 2015 E3. The PlayStation variant launched two years later with relatively (outside the Elite fraternity) little fanfare.Correct me if I'm wrong, but my impression is that it was reasonably successful on Xbox but didn't do that well on PS4. Not sure if the total linked encompasses the entirety of elite sales on PS4.
what you are saying is true. the other reason the console community was dropped as a priority is that we have little effect on aggregate scores such as steam. PC players can and have downvoted Elite dangerous core. FDev needs to start communicating again as a whole but for the next 6 months to a year, it needs to be console focused. getting the game running on consoles will mean improvements to the game on PC for lower-end rigs. Not sure if it counts as a correction but, for context, Elite was released as part of the Microsoft early access programme and announced as a marquee item at 2015 E3. it’s not surprising that more Xbox accounts are registered than playstation accounts.
a lot of people were repeatedly asking for a console release date, or challenging the ambiguity of answer as it was a non answer, but there just as many PC commanders demanding performance fixes to EDO citing low FPS on their PC rig.
I seriously doubt it works that way. That would mean converting the game to two different console platforms, making changes on one or both of those, and then porting them back to pc?....it needs to be console focused. getting the game running on consoles will mean improvements to the game on PC for lower-end rigs.
I remember. That was the OP. A classic example of using language to placate. Never meant it, was just trying to calm people down.remember when we were told we would be given news even if it was bad, instead of no news.
The continued silence just further enforces the theory that FD are up to something (ie take over negotiations), regardless of whether it's actually true or not. If they just did something "normal" like a schedule or a stream at least we'd know they're still there.March tomorrow, that is impressive communication.
Sure looks like they have been silenced but why?I'm not a massively vocal member of the forums but ! as I see it... its simple - we have a community liaison team and their job, is to engage, communicate and inform the community in a fun and consistent way, so if that's what their job description is, and presumably makes up the bulk of there job role, I can only assume they are doing one of two things, consciously ignoring the community as a whole in the full knowledge that we are almost screaming for even the slightest glimmer of any type of information exchange or they have been silenced by senior members of the company,
Its 12 short weeks from financial year end. Resources are being pulled from scheduled events in an aparrent re-prioritisation of tasks. Rampant speculation has ensued. Rather than engaging with us to set expectations and keep control of the narrative, they clarly feel that radio silence is a much better route to take. How about communicating on update 11 ? @Bruce G @Zac Cocken. You do know this is the last day of february ?
The past 3 months? How about the past 6 years? They just went "here's a journal, here's an API, not our problem anymore" and failed to take any inspiration from and/or incorporate any third party functionality into the game. You people are legends.I notice the Inara banner above. Good job us at EDCD who develop these 3rd party programs don't go wandering away for 3 months leaving you all on your own
Well, whatever the reason for the CMs having been gagged for this long, it better be bloody good.....but I'd just settle for an update 11 release date at this point.....I do think that this is purely an ED issue as the other CM teams seem to be actively engaging their communities - I think @Arthur Tolmie @Zac Cocken and @Bruce G have been gagged for some reason which hopefully will become clear soon. I am not yet in the doom camp but the longer it goes on the more I am shifting that way. I just hope we don't lose the great CM team we have at the moment as they start to despair at having their hands tied. They love to engage, we love to be engaged and something needs to give inside at FDev to allow a full an honest update to the player base.
