Update on Communication

Make it so a player can recall a ship from a station concourse (I was shocked to discover that you can only request a ship delivery from...inside a ship. 😖)
You can summon your ship using your wheel can't you? It's quite near the contacts icon. Or if you're on a station concourse pop into the Inter Astra booth, where you can have any ship delivered from any other station/surface port to this one.

And Maybe see is the "new gen" of console can handle Oddesy
I don't know about that. The problem with E: D is that it's a MMO, there might me problems with Microsoft and Sony for having one version of the MMO on the old platforms and one on the new one. Also I suspect that there arn't enough console players with the new consoles yet (blame the superconductor shortage and the scalpers) to justify a port.

I'm going to try this tonight. I've been using the station menu system to look for a way to request one of my ship's to be delivered to my current station. Thanks for the tip!

EDIT: This doesn't seem to be the case. While you can use the comms wheel to have your ship come pick you up on a planet, you can't use it to request that a ship be delivered to an orbital station. The same goes for Apex. The Apex UI will show you where you have stored ships, but unless I am missing it, there is no option to have one of your ship's delivered to your current orbital station.

That's why I said "Or if you're on a station concourse pop into the Inter Astra booth, where you can have any ship delivered from any other station/surface port to this one." They don't just sell ships, they have the Shipyard management menu. They are essentially the Shipyard.

You are confusing apex and shipyard services. Many stations have both, and the latter allows ships to be send to your current station. Apex is only for taxis.

Yes, but the poster apparently missed that part so I thought it was worth repeating..

Can you show me where this is the case?

I am now at an Coriolis station. When inside my docked ship, I can request a ship transfer as normal. No problem. However, when I went to a station terminal in the concourse, there is no option to request a ship transfer to my current station. With that in mind, I took a walk over to Apex and while there IS an option to show me where I have my ships stored, I cannot locate any way to request having one of my ships transferred to my current location. What am I missing?

D'oh! Even though you guys have been writing Inter Astra, I've been reading Apex. Facepalm! I don't think I've set foot inside of an Inter Astra until today. For some reason, I thought they were the bio-tech company - what is it...Vista Genomics? Confusion all around on my part!

Thanks for the patient help! Well, I can now scratch that bit of annoyance off my list.... o7

In your defence I have mentally confused Apex and Inter Astra several times if not quite so publicly.
Now if Elite was just more gamelike those names would have been changed to be more distinctive.

Thanks for making me feel better. 😁

I will add in my defence that I find it peculiar that you can't request a ship from a concourse terminal as well. I suspect I am not the only one to be led astray by this.

Yes, the branding is terrible. Everything is light blue. they should make the Shipyard/Inter Astra lighting red, green or something to make it distinct from the genomics booth.

The problem is this shadowy and highly secretive organisation, whose key player is Fr Ontier.

I believe this entity is behind and controls all the pawns in play, in and around Elite Dangerous. Even more elusive than the Dark Wheel, we can only speculate wildly at what it is up to.

;)

There doesn't seem to be much to say.
Does this mean that the game is no longer being worked on?
The only news lately has been: Canceled (consoles), we're not working on it (planetary tech).
The whole forum consists only of wild guesses.
Communication is something else.

Yes it was a week ago that the tiling announcement was made, of course in the UK where FDev live and work there has been a weekend and two bank holidays in that time so only 3 working days.

The thing with these forums is that they are always filled with wild guesses and rants no matter what volume of messages we get from FDev.
