Updated Permit List

It wasn't so long ago when three of your list had no obvious benefits. So it may not be long before some of the others get engineers or other things worth trading or doing.

Well, that would be fine if in the future they got some must-have reason, I'm just looking for 1-2 permit systems that other people like having. So far I like Van Maanen's Star, based on it's name, but that's it. I had Sirius and Alioth months before they had engineers, because I'd heard of them before. The rest on the list I've never heard of, never tried to jump to and couldn't, I'm just wondering if any of them are notable for something.

Not really. Though Peregrina was known for being a plague system. But I don't think that's what you are meaning.

Permit systems are often notably boring. Crom is a good example, it's the most boring place in the galaxy, as there is absolutely nothing there but the star and the outpost. Not even a single planet or moon.

What stupid decided permit aquisitions should be randomized? I grind for faction rep and then can't get a permit from any of the stations I go to no matter how many times i relog. The stupid permits showed up every time I wasn't allied with Sirius, now they're impossible to find.
This is stupid design.

The 2.3 patch notes says they are fixing ranking mission availability. Maybe permits will be fixed as well.

edit. Dominic confirmed that permit missions are included in the fix. He said he refers to navy rank, engineer unlock and permit missions all under the group of "rank missions".

The Sirius permit is not available from any of their stations, just from a select few. To quote the op:

the permit can only be obtained from Procyon, Luyten's Star and Avik

That.....is part of the reason this thread exists. If you find out the answer, please report back here and tell us about it. :)

Speaking of which, if anyone is willing to give the OP a look over and see a need for a change and can write it up, I'll be sure to add it and give proper credit.

Of course, in the event that I am no longer able to update this thread, someone feel free to make a wiki based on the OP as a backup and I will link to it prominently. ;)

Also, congratz CMDR Evolution !!!! :D :D :D :D [cool][cool][cool][cool][cool][cool][cool][cool][cool][cool]

The danger with a Wiki is that every plonker can make changes to it. There has been a lot of damage done to the Rare Commodities list by players who don't understand how allocations of rare ggods are affected by the BGS.

There are apparently at least some people with access to Mingfu and some of the other populated systems with currently unacquirable permits.

If any of these individuals are paying attention to this thread, I was wondering if they'd be willing to help shift control of these systems enough make the permits attainable again.

True, but those changes are easily reversible and some concerned parties can be on a notify list when it gets updated. Depends on whether the benefit of quick updates from the community outweighs the issues of junk updates I guess.

Has anyone making these claims shown any proof that they have access to Mingfu or wherever?

Not directly related. Did my test with Anarchies and the results were as expected. Mostly meh. The passenger mission and spawns of security type passengers works well. Now Im lookng at black market sthat were recently opne that have shut down without immediately obvious change in state/gov type / PP.

Is this something special for Sirius, or simply the effect of the 15 LY search bubble mentioned way earlier in this thread?

It is the 15 LY radius factor. But the reason why Sirius has such far flung colonies is because FDev manually inserted those factions via manual colonization. These colonies are directly linked to the main faction.

Incidentally, this isn't the only faction where the 15 LY effect on permits is seen. I believe Peregrina also has expansions beyond the 15 LY radius, and you can't get the permit from any of those either.

Has anyone else notice black market s becoming unavailable?

No apparent reasons like state changes, faction change or PP effects.
