Uses for a second monitor

Well, if ever there was a case of hardware envy, this is what it feels like. I thought I was excessive with my screens and HOTAS and a few extra buts here and there... but I see I'm just a young Padawan next to GraXXor. Pedals for racing is actually really nice, I wish I had a set for quite a few games, honestly.

One but is enough for me.. I couldn't imagine having extra buts... my toilet paper bill would rival beta C&P IF Bribes.

It’s really just to help me reduce my tax bill ;-)

Oh, and it's force driven, so the shaft doesn't move, instead it reads the force being applied and converts that to axes offsets.... Required a lot of getting used to it, but it was worth it.

i didn't even know that existed. very interesting! but i can imagine it will take some training. i'm now even more confused as before regarding my next flight control options ... :O

I'm sure she'll understand... and then expect you to as well when she buys something of equal value. :D

You'd be surprised how much you can pick up cheaply, tbh!

I bought a racing wheel and pedals for €70 and a HOTAS for €40 last year, as I had spent too much on my PC itself and just needed cheap peripherals to get me going. You can see the exact point I ran out of money in my build :p

Both have held up fine and I definitely think it was right to buy cheap rather than waiting to be able to afford new kit! I've now ordered a new HOTAS and I'm pricing VR at the moment - I reckon I can get my hands on a Rift CV1 for less than €300 :D

And you can get cheap €40 tablets or even free/cheap old monitors online to add to your screen setup.

The trick is to buy it slowly over the course of a year or two, bit by bit. That way she’s less likely to notice and if she does you say you’ve had it for over a year already.

In my case, this setup is located at a small school I run. My apartment is above it so it’s basicslly where I spend most evenings. I use Virtual reality, driving simulator software (City Driving) and Coties Skylines with some of my students who are learning English. That way it’s s legitimate tax reduction.

You can never have too many monitors.

Three monitors is for amateurs :D

Since the photo I've added another monitor. Shall have to take a new pic.

Top 3 to play ED
Bottom two monitors pictured for Inara and EDDB/Coriolis
Additional new monitor for EDDiscovery which generates a human readable version of the player journal.
I'm curious as to which graphics card you to drive all of those screens (32 inch each?).
