So you're saying that Odyssey will give me Horizons performance in Solo?

I also know that very few and infrequent connections are made to the server while in solo mode, because as KGB I use Wireshark to analyze such things. I can tell you with assurance, comrade, that Odyssey's terrible framerate has nothing to do with networking. (Unless you're in a busy location in Open, where P2P instancing network code does affect framerate). No, because even in Solo mode you are connected to the servers, as you know well being a former KGB agent

Indeed ... which is looking more and more like it will be a total flustercuck ...That's current gen consoles. Next gen is PS6.
Frontier have already said they have no plans for a current gen port of the game. They're targeting last gen only.
Same.I've logged out with a comfortable 144 vsynced FPS in Horizons and logged back into 70 FPS in Odyssey in the same place. Very. Very. Sad.
Some people actually believed final release would result in a 60% performance increase. That's not optimization. That's a miracle.
This is why I am absolutely convinced someone forgot to implement the Occlusion and Frustrum Cullling. Not really, with no optimisation at all, you could tank something down to 10FPS, with optimisation you could jump up to 200FPS showing the same stuff.
If you are working the graphics card to re draw everything a hundred times, when you only need to draw it once, well, you gonna lose a lot of speed.
I agree, Odyssey is simply unplayable in VR.if you think it's bad try VR
it's basically unplayable now...
