was there an optimisation pass at all?

3900 XT, 3090, 32G Ram, Force MP600

The game is not optimized, runs horrible laggy spongy when ever you look at anything..

Shame

Yeah, there is something wrong with settlements. Even in the tutorial. I have mixed settings between high/ultra at 1080p on a 2060 and a Ryzen 2700X Tutorial starts, facing the settlement you can't even see yet.. 48 fps. Turn to the right a bit.. 76fps. I'm sorry, 2002 called, they would like you to use culling.

Reporting with my GT 1030:

(tutorial mission) was (when not facing fire which killed FPS down to 10fps) actually not bad- it is about 20-30 fps @2560 x 1080p with everything on low or off. The problem? Everything looks like a shoebox :D The CM4 in the dustoff had no textures (but did have Gouraud shading- luxury!).

Space was smooth, planet approach on potato visuals smooth too.

You definetelly not playing at high settings

Made me laugh

Do you mean VRAM memory leak? Some people say that the game are not unilizing GPU at full capacity (about 60% max). BTW you are doing the work that Frontier should do lol
Problem was that Windows did not allow ED to write to some folders. I wonder why executably did not crash, instead of bravely soldiering on. After whitelisting ED problem of dropping performance vanished. Now it runs acceptably. Though what I consider as an acceptable may not be acceptable for others.

Well, the king is naked then

Performance is just horrible : i7 9900K, 32Gb RAM, 1080, OS and game on different NVME M2 drives) : barely 30fps on foot and 50/60 fps in space on a triple screen setup.
I had to drop the triple screen setup to be able to have something playable/smooth.
Lowering graphics have little to no impact.

Even Cyberpunk was able to run at 75fps in ultra on launch day.

All of that for no major graphic improvement...

This release is a pure joke.

That's because CP2077 had DLSS :D That basically salvaged the launch on PC.

My PC 1:1 recommended specs and I can't even get 30 fps inside settlement or station.
All good in space

I've got an i7-6700k/64gb/GTX1080 on my laptop, main PC is down just now, and even running at 1080p with settings on high which is what the game recommended based on my hardware, I was getting as low as 13 frames per second during the tutorial mission, ~55fps in space, ~25 inside space station. Ridiculous!

Horizons hit my 60fps cap fine in 4K Ultra on a 1070Ti, with some drop in stations.
Training mission: 11fps, I kid thee not. I've got it up to 30fps by dropping the quality everywhere, but man it looks sooo naff.

When playing the training mission at 11fps I felt like the graphics were really pretty, right up there with Doom 3 (2004), but I wish they'd bring the control panel interface from Doom 3 too, instead of locking yourself into terminals and losing your movement control.

I'm too lazy to embed the screenshots again, but bask in the glorious optimization pass.
