@OP - Sorry that you have trouble finding co-ords on planets, and worse not being able to read the co-ordinate numbers on screen coz they're so small. I just wondered (can't check right now...) but if you look down (default is key 3) as if you want to access the SRV, does that increase the size of the numbers at all?
And yes, I too think it's strange - to put it politely - that in the 34th Century we have lost our planetary navigation abilities (although, strictly speaking, we only have such things available on Earth because of all the satellites we've stuck up there) .
If it's helpful, here's a link to my paper+pencil way forum post...

Yes, very easy to navigate if you know how. Still it doesn't help the OP since he has trouble reading the co'ords. for anyone else that is struggling with navigation, you can use any rhumb line calculator on the web, very easy to use. The devs also enabled co'ords/hdg/alt readouts to be sent to the player journal in 3.0, that is actually quite a huge deal, it means we will see some very nice navigation tools rolling out soon. Current external navigation tools have been very very crude due to the fact that they couldn't read data directly from ED.
All that being said, we are long overdue for a proper in built flight management system in ED.
