what are the best mods for Manticore Executioner

...Or, if you're a sniper with a bad shot (like me), a second chance? I suppose that the kick-back is less allowing you to get a shot in more quickly?

Now I'm torn between Scope, Stability and Higher Accuracy.

Think I'll ditch Greater Range since the Executioner already does quite well at range...
It's not increasing the rate of fire, only the time you need to line up another shot. But go with the scope. None of the other two really help with sniping.

OK thanks. I'll definitely go with scope then, but might keep the last slot free for a while.

Personally I am hoping that we can eventually remove mods - or even store them with a switching cost from the engineers. Would be gutted if I put a mod on and didn't like it!

Stability reduces the kickback from firing, and by extension reduces the upward aiming creep on automatic weapons. It’s a bit less useful on an Exe because you can’t fire consecutively anyway…there’s always a pause no matter what. The advantage for an Exe is that the weapon will get back to the pixel you were aiming at sooner.

That's a description my non-FPS head can understand more easily... Thanks! Yeah, it does sound pretty useless for the Executioner - especially with it's 3-limit (default) magazine. I can see how an AR-50 would benefit though.

It has a slight impact because if you do constantly fire the exe without pause, it does gain elevation (and so the 2nd to 5th shots are all off centre, though still all in the exact same location, so not entirely additive).

But I'd suggest that benefit is even less than the 20% faster reload speed on the same weapon.

I think stability is more of a placebo mod (nothing wrong with that). I’m terrible at FPS and even though you can’t actually fire any faster, the reduced recoil will help my brain keep focused on the target. It’s the faster handling I see as kind of pointless for a sniper weapon tho. If you use the Exe as a run n gun weapon then yep absolutely but if you hang around on rooftops picking off single targets I don’t see the benefit of it really.

Having said that, if you’re using run n gun tactics the ideal weapon would seem to be the shotgun with both silencers, faster handling and extended magazine but I digress!

I believe the faster handling brings your sights up quickly and (as said in Inara) improves the "ADS functionality". I take that to mean that your shots are more on mark compared to than without. Which for a sniper weapon is desirable.

Since I've got Faster Handling, I find more shots through ADS finding their mark - I noticed a big difference for long range. Perhaps it was psychological.

from my experience you want both.
i had it several times now that i shot someone indoors with Noise Suppressor, and while no one INSIDE heard it, Guards from OUTSIDE ran in.
Has anyone else experienced this? If correct, it sounds like a bug. This would mean the Noise Suppressor mod by itself is completely useless.

I would really like to avoid having to get both Noise Suppressor AND Audio Masking on my Tormentor just for it to work indoors.

Maybe it is not the sound of firing that alarted guards outside but the bullet impacting ground or wall.
I got a audio masking grenade launcher, it mute the sound of firing but when it explode far away, everyone in the base got shield up.

There is no point to use sniper indoor so forget about noise suppressor. That role belongs to your PA magnum.

My current two sniper:
long range + scope + audio masking + steady = better success rate double tap kill shield up target
long range + scope + audio masking + mag = less reload in case things get hot when in Maverick

My only PA magnum:
noice supporessor + audio masking + mag + steady

I'm not 100% sure if long range works right now...

Using T5 executioner on a T5 npc target with no shields.

I was able to kill targets up to 150m away and damage them up to 200m before the upgrade. but after the upgrade I was still not able to kill a target at 190m. I was expecting to kill them at 225m.

I filed a bug... if anyone would like to put their findings in the bug it might help speed up the fix or prove it was my mistake and I will remove the bug.

LOL. I was curious if this was possible.

Yes I was talking about the Tormentor as well, not the Executioner. And it looks like you've used both Noise Suppressor and Audio Masking for yours (assuming by "PA magnum" you mean Tormentor).
I really don't want to have to get Audio Masking in addition to Noise Suppressor for my indoor Tormentor build. It's just a waste of a mod slot.

before I added audio masking to it, AI would stop when they heard the shot, so you add to aim directly. at them.
After audio masking, AI doesn't hear the shot, so you need to adjust you aim...

I now have: magazine size, faster handling, stability and audio masking on it.
The only thing I might replace (if it was possible) is faster handling

On my tormentor I have: hip accuracy, stability, noise suppressor, audio masking

Sorry I didn't understand the first part. Are you also saying that you need both Noise Suppressor AND Audio Masking for an indoors Tormentor to be properly silenced?

I have a G4 with long range, scope and audio masking. I prefer to use it to kill the unaware at great distances. Good fun. Not sure what I'd use for the final mod if I did upgrade it to G5.

No, but maybe it also helps when the doors are still open.. and I use the tormentor also outside for short distances.

I have a noise suppressed p-15. I often charge override doors and stand in the pressurised area killing people outside approaching or leaving the building with the p-15. No one's ever heard me. So it's either a flaw in the tormenter or as someone mentioned, perhaps the plasma ball is alerting outsiders.

I found an Executioner with audio masking and upgraded it to G5. Slightly regret not waiting as I have unlocked Yarden but neither of the two engineers who offer scopes so cannot add a scope yet. After the upgrading, I found a G3 with a scope. RNG laughs at us. But I am about 3 mats and 4 covert theft/heist missions (tried for the first time yesterday, 2 out of 3 ain't bad) short of unlocking scopes.
Having used the Exe with audio masking a number of times, additional mods are nice but not essential. So, after audio masking my choice would be a scope and stability (to get that second round off quicker). If pushed to add a fourth mod, probably mag size. Due to the slowness of the rounds, greater range is a bit problematic as the target has to be stood still for several seconds up to 100m. Adding another 50m to the effective range though just adds to the time of flight.

Main thing to I noticed with audio masking, is that the targets need to be isolated when shot at, else their companions will notice the target falling. It also seems that no one, not even the target, notice when rounds miss!

Their mates will also notice the body on the ground and get into alert mode if their patrol path will lead them in the visual range of the said body
So picking the right timing to shoot the target is quite important if you want to go completely unnoticed.
