Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I'm trying to work out how much tritium I need to get my carrier to Colonia. Brain fog is preventing me :D
Worst case calculation distance/jump range * 1.13 to allow a 13% reserve for distractions all times fuel per jump of that range.

50,000/400 = 125*1.13 = 142*135 = 19,170 tonnes of Tritium

Actual requirements should be somewhat less than that.

Use the fleet carrier router on spansh, it’ll calculate it for you.

Gmmmmph. Ooof. That is a LOT of tritium.

Yeah, but you're rich, rich, rich! The only downside is you gotta haul it all to your FC. Or maybe figure out how to do buy/sell orders and get others to fill it (for a premium price). I've never tried that. But I did go to Colonia, and Sag A*. Paid for it by mining and trading and a little bit of massacre missions, as usual.

Sol to Colonia is around 4000 T of Tritium, by the way, not 19,000. Depends on how heavy your carrier is (which services installed, how much in cargo).

Well I did say worst case and assumed @Tyres O'Flaherty was 50,000Ly from Colonia, in all probability he is closer than that after all I think everywhere is closer than that.

My graphics card failed yesterday and so I had to make a quick purchase to replace it. Ended up going with a RTX 3060 and I can't believe I was missing this level of detail and crispness in #EliteDangerousOdyssey.
😳
My wallet hurts, but my heart is happy.

Just over the border into the Outer Orion Spur.

I suppose I could easily afford the tritium but the hauling from station to carrier is a bit mind numbing :D

We need big fuel tankers to deliver the stuff.

I'm on the way back to Colonia Dream in the Ratraii system from my expedition beyond Beagle Point. If you've not been to Colonia before I can give a few tips on where to sell exploration data to get allied with factions for access to good pirate massacre missions and passenger missions. Allied with Colonia Council is a must for one of the engineers.
Pirate massacre yes, I'm already allied with Brewer and Colonia Council, I think I'll save up my exploration data until I actually get there now (didn't want to hoard all of it, just in case I get killed). I have been going a bit off the beaten track, skipping some of the stops on the highway so had been amassing a fair bit of new data to sell.

OK for pirate massacre the target is Brian's Thugs in Ratraii system. Handy for me as Colonia Dream is my base so good for a quick rearm mid massacre session. This station is also very close to arrival star.
Pick up the massacre missions from Tir and Eol Prou LW-L c8-127. A couple of the factions are in both systems and there are often a missions for massacring Brian's Thugs smugglers or similar which don't stack with the regular pirate massacre mission. I got caught out by that one. I didn't measure credits per hour, but once allied with the factions I'd guess at 75 to 125 million per hour, maybe a bit more with some luck in the missions offered.

Passenger missions can be stacked from Diggidiggi which gives me a reason to fly the lovely Orca with pretty views and makes around 36 million an hour.

I ran into a somewhat frustrating planet today. It had 5 bio signals. For 4 of them the heatless map showed a continuous blue everywhere, with no gaps at all. For the 5th one it showed absolutely no blue, anywhere.

I went ahead and looked for things anyway, and it turned out to be fairly easy to find the 4 that were supposedly everywhere. They were not everywhere, but they were compartmentalized by terrain height, more or less.

Stratum Tectonicas were on the plains (it was a very dim and boring planet):

The other three types, Frutexa Metallicum, Clypeus Margaritus (I like that name), and Aleoida Gravis were on the bumpy terrain, giving me a rare 3-bio shot. Too bad it's so ugly, lol.

I'd never seen Clypeus Margaritus before. The shell looks like chrome metal, but inside are little green buds.

The 5th type was supposedly a Tussock Triticum, but since the heatless map showed it being nowhere, I took a chance and checked out the one iced-over section of the planet. No Tussocks, but more Aleoida.

I searched around aimlessly for some time, but never found any Tussocks. A glitch in the system, I guess. Or possibly there was 1 Tussock, and the blue dot it produced in the heatless map wasn't visible from space. :)

On the one pole of the planet were these big white cliffs, surrounded by flat terrain with features that reminded me of bones or skeletons. This place sort of looks like a dinosaur graveyard to me.

I have a few more planets in this system to check out, but not today :)

I used my new yellow freighter, the Chiquita Banana Lady 1, in the community goal of humanitarian aid in Leesti. Picked up some bicker on the radio about the factions, and seem to be a lot of Thargoids around, not so far from home, back there.

But what is so far from home is the company Orca. Speaking of factions, I took this mission out for the Station Wagon Moms of Altair. Just kidding but the luxury cabin in spirit is full of them, and my character wonders if they have a mother too,

Our Mother's Day 3308, Elysian Beach Jellyfish tour!

Happy Mother's Day 3308 and please transfer any remaining Altairian maternal figures into passenger cabin for a dawdle along the shore, then heading up toward the Jellyfish Nebula tomorrow. At Millenium Dolphin touring company, your mothers is safe on our 3308 Elysian Beach Jellyfish tour!

Your Altairian mother's survivability is contingent on successful return landing at Solo Orbiter by next weekend. Remaining mothers go in the escape pod. 50% of mothers report elevated maternal instincts during hull damage.

Hmm, I'm still at HIP 36601 at the moment. I'm not heading home, I'm swapping to my DBX (still in transit, eta 1 hr out) and try to continue that f__king 1634/5000LY trip for the mofo Palin. :cautious:
What I did for my second commander is, after HIP 36601, headed to Outotz LS-K D8-3 for the other crystal shard site to get the remaining raw materials except Selenium. Then I continued in the same direction and visited the Jelllly Fish nebula. If memory serves, it's 5029ly from the start location and qualifies for Palin access. You can't plot a route direct from Outotz LS-K D8-3 to Jelly Fish nebula - not sure if it's permit locked region that causes this. First plot to somewhere half way to the nebula and then plot the second half. Pliedes for the sensor fragments Palin wants is also on the route back to the bubble. Killed 3 birds with one stone, so to speak.

Ok, took your route and almost halfway of it now.
