Did you know: You can send all of your probes, if you're accurate enough, and then leave the body while the probes are traveling and it will finish mapping while you're moving on to the next one.
Yeah. But I'm paranoid, so I sit there and wait.
I do it a lot if going long distance. Shot probes, turn away engaging FSD and the efficiency bonus message pops up just before the jump.
Found my first water worlds of the expedition today. Only had rocks, ice and high metal world's up to now. But I am focused on Exobiology, so not been to many systems yet.
Fairly recently - certainly within 6 months. And it was a mountain climb sort of thing. Damned if I can find it though...
These skills can be helpful in everyday exploring, as well... It is a fascinating technique, that's for sure.
It's a bummer that the Elite Team of FDev doesn't have enough manpower to implement some placeable props and a simple waypoint system...
I can relate. Didn't do it often enough to be able to get the efficiency bonus every time... It's still a little inconsistent - one time, I managed to get the 100% with only 3 probes, another time 8 were barely enough to get the job done.

Speaking of SRVs, you can strip components out of them in a settlement, get scanned and come up clean!
Yeah. That's rosemary.
Yes you can also nick data and assets from settlements and be clean on a scan - just don't get spotted actually in the act of picking them up. It's only Goods that show up on a guard's scan.
Now all you need are some parsley, sage and thyme...
Much more fun was where someone with a few helpful nudges from friends ‘docked’ his SRV in a station.
I suppose someone has attempted to get an SRV onto a Fleet Carrier?
Haven't heard of that, yet. But I've seen a video where someone had parked their SRV on the outside hull of an Orbis station.
So I wouldn't be too surprised to hear someone got their SRV out on a cruise across a carrier...
