Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I decided to try out my crazy idea about a Salvage guy, so I cleared the save on my alt account again and gave it a go.
It didn't work very well. The stuff I could scavenge wasn't worth the effort, although it was fun trying.
I wound up goofing around on that account the rest of the day, working my way up to an Asp Ex and unlocking Elvira.
Saw some nice sights, had a good time.
Landing the Sidey at a very cool little city:

The PC is in the hottest room in the house. I may have to take a 48 hour break... even sitting still is causing unsightly sweat patches. And tomorrow's forecast is plain evil.

Found a nice shady place to keep cool in the unauthorised station.Looked for a cz and watched as 4 allied wings ripped apart the opposition.I was looking to try out the WS,but found i'd fitted an interdictor instead.Also a couple of lifeless annies. Somebody has been on a kill fest.Not quite sure what the situation is, so no change there.Apart from the heat, everything is snafu.

Currently, my "PC room" (though it's not just that, I don't have that many rooms) is the only one with AC in it. So I have an extra reason to play games. It's the rest of my daily routines that is insufferable due to heat.

Still haven't encountered any resistance to my presence except for one sidewinder who threw some missiles, none of which penetrated my shields.Also managed to maneouvre myself behind a capacitor when a station turret opened up,result was one burning power source.Tried it again elsewhere,with partial success.Still,it was quite satisfying getting the station to blow bits of itself up. I've tried ramming the turrets to no avail.And i've no idea what to do about the fighter pads.One step at a time,i guess.

I am currently half-dead, concerned about heat stroke. This afternoon, I will mostly be experiencing what my Phantom does when I scoop too close to a star. What does "critical" mean?

I have left carcosa for the present.I thought i might attatch a mining laser to deal with those pesky turrets,but there were none available at amber.
I did manage to access one of the interior sections,but i was taking a lot of heat from turrets,and there is not much room to maneouvre,so i legged it before going pop.
Had another look at a fighter bay and a comms array.
It's a bit like a puzzle box.

For most of the day I've been playing the forums - laptop is already uncomfortably hot and likely to be untouchable when running ED. So I'm waiting/hoping it gets cooler and I can get back in the cockpit soon.
I'm about 10-12 jumps from a new-to-me nebula so I'm hoping to find something interesting. After last weeks run of wins - several bio sites, and my first NSPs - this week has been a bit thin. Apart from waterworlds - I'm drowning in waterworlds (boom-tish!). Seem to find one or more every 5 or 6 jumps.
I'm about 10-12 jumps from a new-to-me nebula so I'm hoping to find something interesting. After last weeks run of wins - several bio sites, and my first NSPs - this week has been a bit thin. Been back and forth to Witch Head and Orion, sorted my AX/Rescue ships in the bubble.
Back to shipyard at Orion, all ships on transfer, turned PC off.
May barbecue some burgers on top of PC, it even has a griddle.

Thank the maker yesterday has gone away. Up most of last night watching what looked like the mothership from close Encounters coming through the clouds... I was half expecting to hear the five tones.
Y'know, I only missed playing for one day but it feels great to be back in the pilots's seat and trekking across the universe (arf) but it sort of worries me that I may be suffering from a condition known as "Mild Addiction". Nah, I can gve it up any time I wanna.
So, just running some money making missions and then I fancy doing some mining. Just need to swot up on the splody stuff so I need to read that user guide thingummyjig first. Then I might go HGE hunting again. I've a mind to get one of those Fed Corvette things but I'm not rich enough yet - at least not to get the A-rated modules I'd want as well as the hull.
