Mission: Grab the item from a hidden cache.
Done a fair few of these before so other than the damned weather.... No sweat!
I land 250+ M away and storm the castle so to speak, kill 5 of the pirate defenders and a drop ship brings 4 more.
I have never seen a dropship at an "Irregular markers threat 3" before .
Anyway wipe the initial no sweat away and dispose of this second wave and search the containers for the requested mission item and......
Damn me it's hidden under an ice flow and I can't get at it!

Hi All :)

It's maintenance day, so for the moment I'm not out exploring...At my last position in the void every system I now come across is virgin territory, even those systems with 0 and B stars, so there's lots to explore! :D

Talking of 'Virgin' 😖..My service provider is Virgin Media etc...So I went to my e-mail yesterday and was confronted with a different log in screen set up, that was a bit unsettling, but I persevered with the 'new' log in pages.
What a $^&$*$ palaver!...it took me an hour or more to set up a new e-mail account and to cut a long story short I finally succeeded in getting back into my previous e-mail set up. It wasn't due to my incompetence either, as when I did a search on the web it seems thousands of other people were having the same sort of trouble as I did.
What griped me was that I had to submit information I didn't want to, but it was the only way I could make any headway through the half dozen 'security' features Virgin wanted me to agree to.
I understand that these days personal security is paramount, but I suspect it's not just that, I firmly believe that these corporations / company's just want all the information that they can screw out of you for their own gain. They'll be asking what colour underpants I'm wearing next! :LOL:
Okay, sorry, rant over. 😬

I'm just waiting now for the game servers to come back on line so's I can continue doing some more exploring, (and calm down a little ;)).
We've got another 5 days to go before the Panther is released?...I'm contemplating buying some more ARX, plus I'm going to buy and try out another game I've got my eye on.
I'll be heading back to the bubble within the next five days, but I intend to log a few more systems out here in the meantime.
Servers are back up! 😌

As long as you keep track of what you told them (in the case they ever get back to you or you need to enter your Granny's birthdate for the backup of the backup identification), there's (as far as I'm aware) no legal requirement to provide them with honest answers, though. Lie to your heart's content and store the questions and replies securely encrypted in yourt password safe.

Ditto - can't remember the last time I saw a commander's name on something. But it's been a thin run for bio. Bagged a few waterworlds, a couple of earthlikes and one (I think) ammonia world. But when the galactic winds were blowing spores across the galaxy they seem to have missed this neck of the woods.

There seems to be an interaction with Powerplay now.

If you're doing a restoration or other mission in an area where Powerplay is active, you can often get these extra non-scavenger guys -- they even act like normal guards half the time, and will try to scan you, yell at you for having your weapon out, etc. You'll even get the warning icon that you've been caught with your weapon out.

Killing them does get you a bounty (if it's a non-anarchy settlement).

I have found that if you go outside of any Powerplay areas, and do your missions there, then you don't see these guys.

I think they are not actually supposed to be there, but it's a bug/glitch.

I've got 20138 Arx that I've gained through gameplay, so I could just squeak in there and get the standard version, but I've decided to perhaps buy the £13 package (25000 Arx) which will give me enough total Arx for the stellar version (and perhaps enough left over for another paint job for one of my other ships)

By the way, the new Panther Clipper is going into early access on July 22. The Burr Pitt just gave it a glowing review. My alt has enough ARX.

Hmm...I might get one. It would round out his fleet rather nicely.

Just watched the video too. It's very positive but... I'm still a little disappointed with the cargo capacity. Just me, probably. However, as a T9 replacement that can protect itself, it does make a case for getting one. Just not via ARX for me.

I also watched that Video and I'm impressed with the Panther. I bought the Mandalay and the Cobra 5 once they were available in game because real world money is tight for this old pensioner. So I'll wait until it's available for credits in game

I was just reading that on Inara after accidentally boosting the Mandalay into oblivion rather than put the landing gear down at Jameson. I was a little distracted with a Youtube video and rushing around to reorganise after the last CG.

Though it got me into the hanger pretty quick. #protip (y)

I'll no doubt try both CG's but I've transferred some ships down to Maityan (Aisling home system for the last CG) since it seemed to have decent bounty missions. It looks like they're getting transferred again, with an additional T-8.

Yeah, I'm about the same here as regards an old age pensioner, and it's getting tougher. It's my birthday the end of this month so I've been 'treated' to an early birthday present with those extra Arx I needed, else I would've just settled for the standard version. ;)
I was a bit perturbed earlier as the extra Arx didn't show up in the game straight away, I've just booted up the game again now though and checked...47,047 Arx total...so it's all good. (y)

Whew!...I don't know how long I'll be playing tonight though...nearly a quarter to ten pm and it's like I'm in a sauna with the high humidity. 🫠

I actually found a discovered system out here, weird...I was going to pass it by as usual but noticed the player hadn't bothered scanning the whole system, just the main star, so after doing that I found there were about a dozen planets, one of which was an earth like world so it's got my commanders name on it now! :D. I suspect it was somebody at an earlier stage in the games history just passing through to somewhere else, honked the main star and didn't for whatever reason discover the rest of the system. 🤷‍♂️

Interesting! (y)...I've not noticed that, I tend to partially forget to check up on other in game stuff especially the CG's when I'm out exploring. :rolleyes:
I might start heading back to the bubble a bit earlier than I anticipated...a 'free lunch' is always welcome.:D

Edit...My Carrier crew were put on full alert last night and early this morning...(Friday)...I promised them a bonus if they could get me to Aiaba by dawn, and a free full English Breakfast at Vespucci City.🍽️☕
We'll be taking a slight detour on the way to pick up a cargo of superconductors, polymers and gallium. I've informed them as an extra bonus they can have the surplus markup price for these goods, so I expect they're going to drink themselves stupid in the bar afterwards. 🍻 🥳
I'm just going to crash out on my bed for a few hours....🥱

Edit...With a squeal of brakes and a cloud of dust I've arrived back in the bubble! 🤪
