Yes, the same asteroids appear in all modes and are shared between modes.A Question here....Do the asteroids that have been core mined (As in blown up) show whether you're in solo or open?
Asteroids are not random, either, they appear at the same place every time. People even spend time mapping them and then upload maps of where the best ones are. I tried following one of these maps a couple of times, and it does work. It's not much fun, though. I was quite surprised to find that the asteroids were not random.
Meanwhile:
I took the Panther Clipper for her maiden voyage. I had to skimp a bit on some of the modules, but I managed to make the ship serviceable. I was able to remote-engineer the FSD to Grade 5 (with no experimental), but that's all the engineering I can do on it at the moment.
Still, the ship performed well enough. It doesn't feel much different than the Type 9, really. It's a big, big boat. I got it through the slot without scratching the paint, though. I went high, like I would with an Anaconda, and that worked ok.
The sound design on the ship is excellent. It somehow sounds big. And the boost sound is awesome.
The cockpit view is meh. Half your screen is cockpit.
Also, since I used the deployable ship and just added a few modules, my rebuy is tiny, just over 4 million.
I'm able to carry 1152 tons (or units) of cargo. I did a test run, just to check out the trading possibilities. It is pretty nice having such a large hauler, I will say. The ship will clearly pay for itself in no time.
My Alt is happy.
