Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

A Question here....Do the asteroids that have been core mined (As in blown up) show whether you're in solo or open?
Yes, the same asteroids appear in all modes and are shared between modes.

Asteroids are not random, either, they appear at the same place every time. People even spend time mapping them and then upload maps of where the best ones are. I tried following one of these maps a couple of times, and it does work. It's not much fun, though. I was quite surprised to find that the asteroids were not random.

Meanwhile:

I took the Panther Clipper for her maiden voyage. I had to skimp a bit on some of the modules, but I managed to make the ship serviceable. I was able to remote-engineer the FSD to Grade 5 (with no experimental), but that's all the engineering I can do on it at the moment.

Still, the ship performed well enough. It doesn't feel much different than the Type 9, really. It's a big, big boat. I got it through the slot without scratching the paint, though. I went high, like I would with an Anaconda, and that worked ok.

The sound design on the ship is excellent. It somehow sounds big. And the boost sound is awesome.

The cockpit view is meh. Half your screen is cockpit.

Also, since I used the deployable ship and just added a few modules, my rebuy is tiny, just over 4 million.

I'm able to carry 1152 tons (or units) of cargo. I did a test run, just to check out the trading possibilities. It is pretty nice having such a large hauler, I will say. The ship will clearly pay for itself in no time.

My Alt is happy. :)

That's the magic of procedural generation I guess, everything follows the seed down to the T. It's maths magic!

Got the CG reward and my 'Vette (who cannot be named here due to - ahem - a swear word) has a shiny brand new point defence turret:

And I've done loads of stuff, but my Inara ranking hasn't shifted for ages... ah well, must play (even) more :D

I have fitted one of mine into my 3,169Cr Panther Clipper, the other I will keep in storage for a while.

Hi All :)

I actually prefer the Panther CG gold paint job to the stellar version, pity you can't swap around the Panther Club decal between ships...obviously I know why not but still 🤷‍♂️
I suppose you could do it the other way around, swap the paint jobs around ...but then you're tied to that zero credit rebuy, unless you forgo that and engineer or swap modules. 😬.
I'm tempted to get the midnight black pg. but I've not enough Arx accumulated yet, just a thousand below the 10 at the moment.

Jack :)

When I get back to my ships I will have to check that, it is surprising.

I have put the CG paint on my Panther, it is a more substantial looking job than the Stellar version.

Much as I fancy that black 10,000 Arx still feels to much.

There's still some decent bounty mission action down in Minerva if you're repped up from a recent CG. Plus a single threat level 3 GCZ. It might be worth bringing down a combat ship to mix things up.

I'm clinging on to my hard earned ARX because I know they'll release a ship I really want after spending them on something I just wanted to have a little play around with. Kinda like when you're thinking about crossing the street before the lights change but you know the cars will start moving as soon as you step onto the road, and then you feel like a clown.

Though I'm strangely intrigued by the PCII even though I only really use haulers for CG's.

I did a couple of runs for the new hauling CG to Minerva. The prices are high and profits are good, and I'll get a couple of extra-big cargo racks out of it, whenever it ends. It's supposed to run for a month. I'm getting about 45 million per run at the moment. 3 jumps laden, 2 empty.

I put the paintjob from the last CG on the Panther. It looks decent. Better than stock, anyway.

Okay!...it was not just my fickle fancy then.;)

Yeah...it's a bit steep for me too, I've yet to customise some names for my other two built star ports / stations so I need to accumulate some Arx for those,. so...🤷‍♂️
