btw lol.... just noticed : the Holo-Ads even have Advertising for the Eagle 
So it's a "must-have" so to speak
It's all down to getting all Controls for the Camera right, so its movement and changing zoom/focus/depth-of-field/zoom is intuitive IMHO.
The rest is putting the Objects into the right light and view, which takes a bit of luck.

I struggled to see the difference at first, but yeah, the imperial version is much more impressive. The body is still pretty on both but the impreial version has very nice wings.I like the Eagles (both standard and Imperial), so they're onboard and on the trip

The rear wing adds some coolness too.
It has more firepower than the regular Eagle, too. The standard Eagle has 3 small hardpoints. The iEagle has 1 medium and 2 smalls.
I like the "dragon claw" look of the wing nacelles.
Eagles are fun ships, absolutely.
I've always thought of the Eagle as a downgrade from the Cobra, but I dunno. Maybe I should buy one and fit her up. I only have about 13 million creds so I may as well spend it on something other than bribes. It's not like I'm saving up for a carrier or anything.
I got given the base game by someone who had it spare from humble bundle last week or so. I've spent the time learning how to play a bit around the Samequit general area- how to fly around, how to dock (thank you kerbal space program), one or two harmless bounties, fuel scooping after a rough start, bit of trading (thank you mount and blade), how to explore including the FSS and surface scanner. The noble sidewinder Breadcrumbs has done quite well as a tutorial ship, but I sold a bit of exploration data, got lucky with a bit of trading, and upgraded to a Cobra. On its shakedown cruise from Samequit to Fjorgyn and back I managed to turn a bit of profit.

This evening, I have mostly been writing a super simple batch script to launch all the programs I use for Elite at once - TARGET, Sx2vJoy, Discord, EDFX, Afterburner and Intel XTU. I made a shortcut, dropped that onto RocketDock and changed the icon image. Launching Afterburner, XTU and Sx2vJoy through EDFX means I only have to go through one admin prompt. Job's a good'un.

I'd agree with that assessment - the speed doesn't make up for the extra flexibility the Cobra Mk. III offers. You have one extra medium hardpoint over the iEagle and the possiblity of >40t of cargo with a class 4 shield. Unless it's heavily engineered, an Eagle (either variant) is really going to be little more than an irritation. If you can't hit an Eagle, you can always jump out - the Cobra has a superior mass lock factor which means that the Eagle can't delay your leaving.
Well the Eagles do have less fire power then the Cobra but both of them are more agile and the Imperial is faster most of the time.
They are great fun.
It certainly makes me smile when I let the heat % get away from me occasionally during an ambitious fuel scoop dive. I get major flashbacks when the smoke starts rising.
My first goal will be to reach the edge of the bubble. I'm heading in an "upwards" direction. Any particular systems anyone have in mind for a newbie to drop in on?
Do you get mass locked by an attacking ship?

I went out to Rigel just to kill some time last night and was going to head right back to the Bubble but as sometimes happens when I do that I decide to check out something else, then something else and it turns into an unexpected mini-expedition of a week or two. Though I don't know how long I'll be out this time as I already lost my only SRV because I'm not in my Exploraconda. In the beginning I just took a break from Thargoid fighting in the Pleiades and went to Rigel. I've explored the Bubble's backyard several times and most of the larger nebulae but I noticed the Iris Nebula on the galaxy map which I've missed before. So I went there then I went down to Sadr Region because I'd never been there and there was a station I could sell what little data I'd already accumulated. After that I headed over to Veil Nebula East because for some reason I went to West before but didn't cruise over to East. Somewhere along the way I lost the SRV while jumping off a mountain but I'm on the way to the Crescent Nebula where there's an inhabited system I hope to replace it at.
Since I'm not too far from the bubble the systems have been pretty well explored, until I got to Veil East I'd mostly been going through discovered systems but a handful of partially discovered systems. On the way to the Crescent Nebula I've finally found some undiscovered systems and a few WWs and one with a nice ring system. I'm enjoying myself, since returning from Stellar Unknown I haven't spent a whole lot of time outside the Bubble.

What is that gold paint? How can I get it?This Raxxla stuff is intriguing but there's a lot of broken "stuff" laying around. Wheat from chaff time.

The Krait is amazing as is, but a GOLD Krait would be even better!
I need a new canopy. I don't why this can't be cleaned up through advanced maintenance->ship integrity or paintwork... Rolls Royce Wraith oweners wouldn;t put up with a grainy windscreen Looks like the crew at the "hand wash" garage got grit in their chamois

You get mass locked by any ship with a higher mass lock factor. Equal or lower MLFs have no effect on entry to supercruise.
High waking (jumping to another system) is not affected by mass lock at all.
