200 Jumps into P-Trek, and on my way back to civilisation to decommission my mining Clipper...
For ref, I think I’ve been out c. 12 hours playing time so far, but I’ve honked and FSS’d quite a lot.

it’s actually been great fun- and mindblowing to churn through loads of first discos and then hit a system which has been disco’d and map’d 4.5KLY from ‘civilisation’... also, finally investigated some geological features for the first time - that was a nice diversion. Might hit the HIP shard forest for some G5 mat madness when I get home in 140 jumps time.

I tried out Basilisk combat for the first time. Three hearts down but just about hit the enrage on one and had to abort. I need better swarm management, but definitely doable.

Support probably being gone for weekend, hence I take a shot here. This is what happened:

Updated patch 3 a day ago or so.

Now I wanted to start EDH, another update, 320 MB or so. I checked the update list and two were running parallel with the same DL size. One for EDH, the other stating NETWORK and an Xbox sign.

I wondered, and interrupted the download to first download one, then the other.

BAMMM. Now I have no more EDH icon on my xbox. App "is gone" from both HD's, I have internal and external.

How do I get EDH back without loosing my progress? Any idea?

Just arrived back at Varati ready to start work on the new ship project.

I landed at Thompson Dock and headed over to Canonn HQ to be greeted with "Oh hi! What are you doing here?" Hmmm. There was apparently a decision made to build and outfit the new ship in ShinDez as I have the permit. I'm told the Council thought it prudent to take advantage of the discount I get at Jameson Memorial. Fair enough, just wish they'd told me and I would have gone straight there. A little communication goes a long way.

I can't be bothered flying over today now, I'm going to the bar to catch up with some of the boffs I haven't seen for a while and I'll head over to JM tomorrow.

You can't lose your progress, it's stored on the Frontier servers. I don't know a thing about Xbox, though. I guess you'd have to re-install the game?

I'd ask the Xbox guys. Somebody there must know how the system and updates work on it

Congrats! It's a great feeling when you pop into a system and, for the first few seconds, your scanner is devoid of bodies. Then your standard sensors kick in and the main star is revealed.

What I don't like is a "system scan complete" immediately after, indicating there are no more goodies to spray your name on

I learned mostly grammar from friend in England we played same mmorpg 10 years ago i think, and he was fan of Liverpool, so i still think my grammar is bad but i see , here are people normal, and positive. Just re-purposed my Anaconda slightly, so she's now a SploraMinerConda. Interesting capabilities: jump range near that of a Phantom plus a mining fit-out, albeit more stripped back than a dedicated miner.

Have Conda, will travel.

I have had a good week trading in my big phat black cutter 'Pythhikkus' 640T, built a new.
Can take down T10's and anacondas using the old vulture and viper moves of 'keep boosting' in and out of the fight.
Made my second billion of cash reserves by doing reciprocal wing trade contracts with values above 10 Mcr, 50Mcr after five loops.
And finding FCs that are prepared to pay twice above the buy price, dumping over 600T for up to 40Mcr a stop. Somtimes I get 2-3 loops, 120 Mcr.
They are hard to find, many Inara ones have completed and there are some paying 425,000 if you fly to Coloina or there abouts. Yeh, I am on my way...not!
Never trust the Inara data completely. There are also some orders remaining persistent in the market data after they have completed.
Also, beware the guys offering the highest prices many only be doing this for their squaddy fellows.
the questions are,
why can FC's not be shown with squad only tags in galmaps..??
How come the market is not clearing out completed FC info.
Does the owner have loggin for the data to update?

Because market data are collected by players, usually automatically by people who have set up (and are running) tools like EDMC or EDDiscovery. And the updates only happen when somebody who is running such a tool docks on the carrier.
The entries also carry a time stamp. In case of carriers, I wouldn't trust anything that's older than half an hour. No way yet to flag squad-only carriers, though.

Yes, I found I could get to the ones showing up on Inara under the hour. Also limiting the travel distance to about 200Ly away or less, and those wanting more than I could carry.
Top ten on buy price makes it worth while.

Despite the current climate in mining profits, I went for some practice in my Krait II (Moist von Lipwig). I found a ring with, allegedly, a musgravite hotspot so I surface scanned it. No yellow patches anywhere but a hotspot on my nav panel - is this a new thing, the no yellow spots?

Anyway, I dropped into the ring and got a nice snap of he sun behind 'roids:

And lo! I then (after much limpet loss) found a core. I went all Ezekiel 25:17 on it:

I did find another, which was really lucky, and netted myself 22mCR. Not a patch on the LTD3 stuff but still...

There used to be a common bug where the hotspots didn’t show properly, it has been clobbered by the patch hammer but traces do show up from time to time.

I don't think thar's a bug though.It usually indicates a double ringed body. They're not very common, but not ultra-rare.
