I wonder how one starts out in Odyssey, if I would delete my save again. Would I be on foot then, with no ship and just some credits? Would I have at least a scanner to acquire access rights, sneaking into staff quarters to steal a few things to sell?- I really consider to do that, it would be fun to try to earn my first ship.

We don't know yet for sure, but I would expect there to be a choice of starts, like there are now. Start with Sidewinder, or on foot, etc. We shall see!

I plan to do this, for sure, but not with my main account. :p

Steam starts the launcher - the launcher itself says an update is required and refers to steam updates - but that is done. Well, we will see, maybe it will work as soon as the ED servers will be up again.

I suspect it will say that until the servers come online. Or at least I hope that is the case. The worst case being steam fubared the launcher, which seeing as they pay the lowest dollar for IT staff, wouldn't actually surprise me. Might also have to shut steam down, and restart the computer. I've had to do that before with them.

I'm torn atm.
The launcher I had offered me an upgrade. But I want a clean install, like always - seems to have prevented many issues in the past.

But in "My downloadable products" I can dowload the Horizon launcher, but trying to dowload an Odyssey specific launcher gives me an error.
Hopefully once the server upgrade is done, this will fix itself as I would love to have to game downloading while I'm at work, but I don't want to download the old launcher and hope it will update itself while I'm gone. :LOL:

done that - rebooted - I guess like you it will work when the FDev servers will be up again.

The new launcher is beige! Well, the text is beige, instead of blue.

I had to use the old launcher to upgrade to the new launcher. Now it's installing Odyssey.

Time keeps shifting, says 2h, then 3h, then 1h. So...who knows.

That's normal - you rarely ever get the speed you are paying for - they sold you "up to" not a specific download speed. During Australian prime time I can be happy if the download speed reaches 40%. I wonder anyway how good my aim will be with like 280-360ms ping. Maybe my aim will be even worse than that of those guards.
