Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

That was wierd. I tried to land at a settlement and it said "docking request denied, no pad large enough". Um... there was only one pad abd I'm in an Asp Scout. Ah well...

Here we go:

👆That's Ash's. And here's mine - It's a twelve-gauge, double-barreled Manticore. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the anti-scavs department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Marshalls's Drift, Aurai. Retails for about CR199.950,000. It's got a platinum stock, cobalt-blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right... shop smart: shop S-Mart.

(Not going to have time to play with it today though :censored: )

Finally got the knack of obtaining caustic tissue samples from caustic generators in a maelstrom. Only about 5 rebuys of my Krait MKII to get to this point. 2 samples collected so far. It's like piracy with something that does not run away but in an environment burning through your hull. Research limpets are like slow working hatch breakers.
Having a fleet carrier to store your loot means you can get samples one at a time.

I've been visiting a few other fleet carriers to see what they are like inside and so far, all pretty bare with no Vista or anything else. What I'm wondering though is why every other carrier I look at has bits sticking out like this:

Whereas mine has no bits at all sticking out, like this:

Sounds like they only have small landing pads in that settlement...
The Asps are a size M.

Hmm... thought it was only large that would have issues. Back to the Viper IV then! :D
I think it is time FDev looked at making landing pads fairer.
Not allowing people to dock at undersized pads is discriminatory docking at oversized pads should also be banned.

Can definitely recommend it for a visit - though i did try poking Altera's Eye with a laser and the black hole didn't open up a portal to Raxxla after all... ;]
You probably need to use a different colour and pulse the laser in morse to send the answer to the question who goes there.

The ones with the sticky out bits are fitted with landing wheels.

Actually they have been probably customised using ARX.

It's just a ship kit. I like the one with the 'explorer' looking front, like the one in the icon you posted. I think there are 3 possible layouts. They do not affect function, but they do shift the view from the bridge.

The one with its bits out is a Nautilus class carrier. Yours looks to be a standard Drake. There are also Fortune and Victory "kits" available.

I like the Nautilus look best, personally.

Edit: ninja'd! :D

It looks like quite a process - keep thinking I should be giving it a go, but then i look out at the nebulae around here 7500LY from Sol and remember that i’m quite happy where i am right now… :]

So i’ll leave it to the Pro’s for now…
Live premiere of my latest (mis)adventure in three hours and counting!
