Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

They're everywhere in mine, except the jump seats when we head somewhere, but I do have a bar so maybe that triggers something, I mean there's nothing else in the concourse to attract off duty crew members so I guess without a bar they just sit in their rooms to drink themselves stupid out of boredom!
The concourse is a public area, they even let the carriers owner in there, the crew tend to hang out in the restricted areas where such riffraff aren’t allowed. The globular night club in one carrier design is legendary for its opulence, even the richest of SLF crew are impressed.

So I installed a bar and replaced the barkeeper with someone a little easier on the eye *

Of course, she doesn't know I'm her employer and I could sack her at anytime. In fact, that may be sooner rather than later as I can't figure out how to get stuff to her so she can sell it for me.

And the bar music is just a racket so I've instructeed her to purchase a new jukebox.

EDIT And now my carrier has people on it but they're such lush's, they only hang out in the bar area with a view to emptying the kegs asap.

EDIT 2 - Oh, I see. You have to put them in your backpack before you can list them. And you can only set a max price of 50k... hmm...

EDIT 3 - OK, the bartender has 19 opinion polls on her for anyone reading who may need them. The carrier is getting some r&r in Agartha.

* EDIT 4 - but her tongue is rapier like in its subtlety if you don't do business with her.

My carrier is devoid of people. Apart from the two pilots on the command deck and the Vista shopkeeper, there's noone else around, asleep or otherwise. Perhaps it's time to install a bar... I do have data I could use the barkeep to sell for me.

Mine is quite busy with people hanging about too - thought of closing the bar down tbh, since we’re always selling out of whatever is stocked and i can never get a V&T at my own bar, let alone any settlement defense plans… but i like having the bar as the whole place feels more cheerful less desolate this way… my co-pilot also likes to sit there and sip Epinephrine with RDX chasers while i’m out frollicking with Fonticulua to earn us more exobio income ;p

I might do a load more exo. I don't want to break into my 20bn nestegg so I need some extra cash for the complete gamut of carrier services. A bit frivolous though... it's a thought though. Going to a CNB for a bit while I decide.

It’s just a nice thing to do on a Sunday imo, whether its ambling about among the Aleoids or a serious Osseus hunt, especially after your trigger finger has had a good Saturday night workout… sometimes it’s just good to go for a ramble and give the shooty stuff a rest ;]

One of my earliest-acquired ships, from when I played before in 2015 is the Cobra MkIII. Before I bought other ships such as the Asp X and now have a Fleet Carrier to cart them all around in, this ship was the main one I used for exploration and pretty much everything else I did in the game.

Anyway, I've been thinking about a name for her and after giving it some thought, finally settled on "Cobra MkIII." Gave her a Scorpion SRV (I won't get started on all the head scratching I did in the outfitting at Jameson Memorial to figure out how to get one of those, what with all the vehicle hangar guess-work lottery and whatnot. :sneaky: )

(Oh wait, I just did get started on it didn't I.)

Anyway here's a shot of this ship and Scorpion SRV on a planet surface in the bubble. (The same planet my carrier is currently parked at as this system is close to several Thargoid systems that are top of the target list and I've been having a go at some scouts in them.)

Cobra MkIII 02.png

On this planet I've managed to get a couple of Weapon Schematics (needed for hand-held weapons upgrades) from some containers at an Irregular Markers site. Also, since it's a high metal body with two bio signals, I suspected they would be Bacterium and Stratum Tectonica and indeed they were - still worth 19 million odd basic (but of course without any Vista first to log bonus as plenty of commanders have been here before me.)

That was wierd.

I picked up an occupied escape pod from the ship I just boiled up. Another ship jumped in and demanded they give me 11 (eleven? Wha...?) escape pods or they'd attack. I didn't and they did and got a hatchbreaker on me.

The poor sod I rescued is now space dust along with my earstwhile attacker.

This is still one of the galaxy’s deepest mysteries: just how do you tell what kind of SRV’s a particular vehicle module is stocked with?

I’m not going to say anything more for now either… ;p

Nice - i’ve been dusting off the Python - good to give an old ship some love :]

Pirate stashes are the best place for these and one needs plenty of them for OD weapons upgrades - you can get convenient directions to freshly restocked ones with larceny missions… ;]

Never a dull moment? :D

Yep, the rules at my pub also seem to be:
1] ask to see a menu and you better order something…
2] or you will be served some scathing sarcasm
3] with no alcohol on the side for relief even… ;p

No, it's the total profit for all time, including losses. That's my best guess. The other figure is the highest profit for one sale.

Yep indeed, that's what the terms all-time and highest suggest to me too naturally - though not sure the scripts that drive that data & graph have ever really functioned tbh...

...the other bit of wierdness is that i've not had anything on sale for quite some time - but it still lists one active export persistently ;p

You might want to keep an eye on "the great pre-upgraded gear sharing is caring" thread on the Oddy sub forum. It could kick off a nice start to your on foot gear collection.

As for CZs, I'm surprised you were shielded down; they are normally activated by default. Very weird.

It does sound like you have a vagrancy issue on your carrier. I'd call Omnipol to forcefully remove the lazy blighters or offer them a job. If they are in your employ, you own them and they must do your bidding.

Having completed another CZ I realised that I must have turned off my shield, so more stupidity on my part.

I have noticed that I now have a lot of stuff in my inventory that I have not bought or collected. For example, I have 6 e-breaches. As far as I am aware you can only buy them from certain anarchy systems. The number seems to increase by 1 every time I complete a CZ. Where are they coming from? Do I somehow "inherit" stuff from each enemy I kill?

Good question! I do quite a few on-foot CZs as well and am also knee-deep in e-breaches that I've no idea where I got them from. Also sometimes, when I'm boarding either the Frontline Vulture or my own ship after completing a CZ, I get an "Emergency Discard" (or something) of illegal items message before I can board...

Not seen my e-breech count go up after a CZ. That rreally is an odd one. Mind you, I have the max amount on me anyway...

The discard notice comes up when you exceed the max amount of stowable items your inventory can take at that time. If that's > 1k goods or assets (or data but I forget the max allowable amount) for your SRV or ship, then you can manually discard what you don't need or let the emergency discard handle it.

I"m guessing this is coming about because you've taken an Apex cab and therefore your inventory is limited to your backpack capacity.

I'm not 100% sure, however.

Something feels off for me, if that should be the case...
If I remember correctly, Frankymole said that they never sold stuff for a price below what they bought it for. Which implies that there shouldn't be any losses. Which in return would mean that the overall profit should be higher than the highest single profit, by a significant margin.

Thinking about it, there definitely is something off. Either the formula/algorithm is borked or we have a case of bad wording.
