I play in 4K and some planets can look truly amazing. You could try taking your screenshot in high-res to see how it comes out.I sometimes wonder how this would look on a more powerful computer...

I think I landed near that elongated mark close to the middle. You can see a system of canyons in the center of the 3km and on the right edge of my 30m approach pictures. Do you thik there would be a chance to findYeah, the GFX level does complicate thing a bit, I think.
Off the screenie, hunting Osseus, I'd probably go check crater edges and (preferably rocky) ridges around the outlined areas first.

How do I do that?I play in 4K and some planets can look truly amazing. You could try taking your screenshot in high-res to see how it comes out.
ALT F10How do I do that?
Ah. Good to know. Cheers.ALT F10
EDIT: your screen may flicker for a few seconds and the resultant file will be big
I added a question mark to the pic where I guess you've landed, and a couple of low/slow flying path suggestions.I think I landed near that elongated mark close to the middle. Yeah, somewhere in that area.I added a question mark to the pic where I guess you've landed, and a couple of low/slow flying path suggestions.
High resolution screenshots are not available if you are playing in open.Ah. Good to know. Cheers.
And keep your fingers crossed it won't kill my computer.![]()
I always forget that I could reducespeed by shifting the pips...Ok, good hunting!
Oh, a thought: is 25% speed at zero pips to ENG too fast? Could well be with DBX, depending on configuration & engineering...
Ah. Okay. Also good to know. Cheers.High resolution screenshots are not available if you are playing in open.
Looking at your cactoida shot there is an isolated blue spot just to the right and above the ringed planet symbol which is in the blue for all but one of the other bios, I would probably head for that first.
Depending on the canyons Osseus might show up on the rims.
I don’t shift my pips that much, and can’t in my bio hunter as I have switched of the Power Distributor to save fuel, but will have deployed the landing gear just after the mass lock light comes on and will be throttling back shortly after the gear deployed announcement.I always forget that I could reducespeed by shifting the pips...
Haha, of course, having landing gear deployed will halve the speed the ship flies - how could I forget THAT?!?!I don’t shift my pips that much, and can’t in my bio hunter as I have switched of the Power Distributor to save fuel, but will have deployed the landing gear just after the mass lock light comes on and will be throttling back shortly after the gear deployed announcement.
It does.Doesn't lowering the cargo scoop also reduce speed? I can't remember.

But I am unsure if having both lowered at the same time slows you more than just having one down.It does.
Now, if I were able to determine from orbit where the more rocky areas were, that would be nice. But I fear that there the limitations of my system are coming in to severely kick me across the field goal. I think I'll jump into the game and take another set of pictures, maybe you can help me see what I can't.
I just did that. Here are the results (Warning. Many pictures.):

DISCLAIMER: I am not complaining about this. I show these pictures simply to give you an idea of what I have to deal with on my adventures.
The graphic quality is not because FDev have screwed up, unless you would consider creating a graphics engine that allows systems that are below official minimum requirements to run the game in a stable manner as screwing things up. I am glad that this is even possible.
