Just had to kill the process, some controls were working, including FSD, but it simply would not actually jump. I say some because the other control that wasn't working was Esc so I couldn't relog either!
Did you post this in the offibial Observatory forum post, too? The developers of this tool might want to know about this issue in order to solve it.Just in case anyone else ever gets this issue... although I think it'd be really quite rare.
I had an error when starting Elite Observatory in that it sent a dialogue stating that voices from Herald could not be found. This meant all my audio for various events (such as what flora were scanned and distances etc.) wouldn't happen.
After digging, I found a solution. If you enter into the directory %appdata%\ObservatoryCore\ObservatoryHerald and find any file(s) with a size of 0 (zero), delete it/them, close Observatory and restart it. Job's a good 'un.
No, I didn't. The resolution I posted here had already been mentioned in that forum. I thought I'd share here just for awareness amongst my "What Are you Up To?" chumsDid you post this in the offibial Observatory forum post, too? I think I will find it useful to speed up BGS mission running for supporting my player faction. But not until I can engineer it to reduce the jump range hit. Its not that useful for entering Thargoid Titan systems and evading Thargoid interdictions with such a low jump range. Its a prototype. We may see it get better. Zero value to explorers I think. The new FSD looks mostly useless to me.
It can go faster in Supercruise, but uses a ton of fuel and heats up your ship like crazy? And has less jump range than normal FSDs? And can't be engineered?
Well I guess I won't be coming back to the bubble to get one.
Maybe there is some synergy with the new, as-yet-unreleased ships. If not, then it seems like a real dud to me.
I see. Definitely a good idea. Cheers. No, I didn't. The resolution I posted here had already been mentioned in that forum. I thought I'd share here just for awareness amongst my "What Are you Up To?" chums
Incidentally, when I'm out gathering salad, I can't do without my Irish lass giving me information. When Observatory error'd, I thought I'd lost a limb.
Right now, I don't see much use for my endeavours. But I sure hope this drive will get some TLC in the future, as I see possible benefits to this drive if it is developed in the right direction. There's one fear I have, though - that the new ships will be built around the flaws of this new drive and the drive itself doesn't get much love.I think I will find it useful to speed up BGS mission running for supporting my player faction. So in short you want Ed Rush & Optical to remix the lasersWell what I'd really like to see is some syncopation for pulse and burst lasers
I mean so instead of pewpewpew, pewpewpew, etc. they be more like pew-pew, p-pew! p-p-pew!
That's the exobiologist spirit! I still have 1 scan to go until I'm done on this rock I'm on.Again, I put myself through it. Damn you osseus!![]()
Once you are being interdicted the overcharged supercruise cannot be activated. So you can prevent interdiction by being fast, but not break free from it once interdiction starts. So the only use case is going fast in supercruise for as long as your fuel and heat sink supply allows. Judging when to stop and not overshoot your destination is hard!I think I will find it useful to speed up BGS mission running for supporting my player faction. Yeah, you have to factor in inertia. And it looks like this drive either deactivates or simply overwhelms the Flight Assist computer. From what I have seen so far, it would be best to use it in shorter bursts, like we do with the sublight boost function.Once you are being interdicted the overcharged supercruise cannot be activated. Where's the fun in that? Sometimes getting interdicted is the best way to pick a fight.Once you are being interdicted the overcharged supercruise cannot be activated. Well, the degraded power regulators are found in the on-foot side of things so most probably not *Found an Impact Site with a wrecked Nav Beacon. I nabbed the Intel Package. There's no way I can get the Degraded Power component without Odyssey, is there?
Yes, it definitely works..! ...a few seconds of this "SC-Afterburner" and i was hurtling past my carrier... it's rather nice to have - use with caution though :]
