I fear this part won't be "finished" any time soon as the underlying problem is most likely related to the way the game generates planets. Some of my ships when landed on a planet still insist on balancing on one undercarriage leg, not that it bothers me, it just goes into the long list (and getting longer) of the games unfinished?...areas...for want of a better word.
It also seems there’s a trade off between having perfectly balanced landed ships and allowing them to land in uneven terrain - a less tolerant “landing computer” might result in fewer legs in the air, but would also reduce landable terrain area… and so Fungoid colonies and other remote areas might be completely inaccessible by ship?I fear this part won't be "finished" any time soon as the underlying problem is most likely related to the way the game generates planets.
Not the first time I’ve seen this sort of thing, but this did make me lol - sometimes these bugs can be quite entertaining indeed...Some of the games graphical bugs can be quite hilarious, but on a more sombre note they can also be mildly irritating too.

It's the "New Thing". Understandably, a lot of CMDR's will want to try out the new content. I can understand it's appeal - get your name up in lights, have a station built with your name of choice. It will calm down after a while.Am I the only one really annoyed by all the "colonisation" type posts in EVERY forum section? As a bit of a tyro I tend to scour the forum sections for bits of info, tips, themes, lore, happenings, etc but it is hard to see these trees past the forest of "my settlement / my FC / wot no architect" etc EVERYWHERE.
I hope it calms down.

On a personal note, it doesn't appeal to me so I'm steering clear - I think I'll give it a go once I've done "Other Stuff".
Almost certainly not…Am I the only one
It mildly annoys me that they are in most of the forum sections I browse. What annoys me more is the evidence of how unobservant the thread originators seem to be, duplicating a thread in another sub forum is one thing but doing it in the same forum with an almost identical title.really annoyed by all the "colonisation" type posts in EVERY forum section? Thread title yes, in the body of the post should be context sensitive. They need an entirely new forum for it, like they have for odyssey, and the moment the word colonisation appears in any post it gets sent there!
Well it's been amusing to read about all the problems and the big exploit and etc. Gives me something amusing to read in the morning. And it makes me glad I didn't choose to participate in the 'beta'. It was a foregone conclusion that there would be problems with an update this big.Am I the only one really annoyed by all the "colonisation" type posts in EVERY forum section? Looks like someone ragdolled somewhere they shouldn't be.Not the first time I’ve seen this sort of thing, but this did make me lol - sometimes these bugs can be quite entertaining indeed
UPDATE: here's a side view of the incident above, indicating that occlusion is at least working as expected... :]

Some people are posting for the first time ever in a forumand are most likely way too excited about this new toy to even bother thinking about what they are doing. What annoys me more is the evidence of how unobservant the thread originators seem to be, duplicating a thread in another sub forum is one thing but doing it in the same forum with an almost identical title
It is always fascinating seeing them sliding out of their hiding spot when the ship lands...Those pesky Codger Rocks can ruin a perfectly executed ship recall.
I suspect when you are in the ship it does not fully generate the collision mesh, it just renders the surface. When you disembark then there is a proper collision mesh for the SRV to ride over (or for the Cmdr to stand on). So the ship only has a rough guess at where the surface is really. (And then if you did fix that, which would nerf frame rates doing exo flyovers, you'd then still have a LOT of asset work to do with unevenly extended landing assemblies or whatever.)I fear this part won't be "finished" any time soon as the underlying problem is most likely related to the way the game generates planets.
You're a glutton for punishment, endeavor to persevere. So today's moon is more or less a sister of yesterday's, which means Fungoida again. Slightly more mountains on this one but now the problem is I've found three good samples from the air, and simply cannot find anywhere to land. At. All. Am about to commit to a 5km drive/walk and it looks horribly like more walking than driving...
Quite honestly, I would have expected Alec to do that...Testing a new SRV prototype powerplant.
