I'm about 4 Kylies from Sol now. Covering that distance in the Mandalay is so easy. However, I may have a play in Coriolis or something to see how many more LY's I could squeeze out of her it I D-rated the PP, PD, thrusters etc.

I'm also now running Elite Observatory and EDEB side-by-side. They're both great but their announcements are slightly different; I get a lot of chatter overlay but that's fine until I decide which one to stick with. To make it work even better, I need a third monitor. However, that would put me pom a war footing with Mrs. Tyres who thinks two is silly as it is :D

Nothing. The voices, the people, their faces, their reactions, the cars, the wandering people in the background, the lighting... everything seemed real to me. But none of it was real.

This is scary in a way -- we soon won't be able to believe our eyes and ears. Yikes.

But what about gaming? Will we get companions and adversaries that look genuine, to be part of our gaming worlds? Imagine jumping out of your ship and going to talk to the people in the concourse and they actually can respond? They can tell you about the mission, and explain why they need it done, etc. Stuff like that?

Part of me is worried, and part of me is excited. These are strange times, indeed.

The more I witness AI in action, the more I want to don my tin foil helmet and go all anti-Skynet.

It is scary. And it's scary right now what with deep-fake stuff happening - and that makes m worry about the future.

Perhaps, with gaming, AI will make us feel like we're really there, something that was touted many moons ago with VR.

Well you could always buy a single 5K 2K 49" screen, if she would prefer that? ;-)
I think some of them let you define virtual monitors so you can then have 3 in 1.

Just to add to your things to consider.

There is a new competitive hauling CG just started sign up for one side only and win one, or two if you get into the 75% category for the winner, sets of different sized pre engineered Power Distributers.
It is due to run for two weeks.

I've been running triple 24s for years now. I can't go back, only more! ;)

I was wanting to unlock Engineer Uma Laszlo since good 'ole Wellington Beck introduced me.
However in order to get an invite I have to become "unfriendly" with the Sirius Corporation.
So I thought to do Ground Combat and fight for the side against Sirius
But Inara gave me a list of that faction systems on a war footing and I visited 5 - and Nada No Crossed swords to be seen!
I'm open to suggestions guys

well, it's not really really really finished (is it ever...?), but this was what was possible to meet deadline - with available time, energy & motivation levels :p

Not that you need all three commodities but a did a few runs for the community goal. I can't see myself bothering with the 75%, but I just checked mid-sentaence and I'm probably only one run from getting into that bracket so I'll maybe keep an eye on it.

And does anyone know a way to see which galactic regions you've explored? It seems like an obvious thing to include.
