Hi
I'm not an expert, but in my understanding overheating is usually related to power usage vs powerplant efficiency. An overcharged powerplant will overheat quicker because it's 25% less efficient (as you can see by the Efficiency stat).
You can reduce power usage by turning off stuff you don't plan to use immediately, or using low-power engineering on stuff.
My Panther seems to run relatively cool, but I've not got a lot of stuff on it (no weapons, for example, and a stock powerplant).
Hmm...Both the A class powerplant and power distributor are overcharged up to the hilt grade 5 on this one, plus experimentals on both are 'stripped down'. Plus there's a lot of shield boosters in there (various engineering effects too). Weapons are pretty much all engineered class 5's, so there's quite a lot going on in there too....

....yep, probably it's something relatively straightforward to achieve. I'll have a closer look when I come back into the bubble from mining, maybe visit some engineers again and sort something different out on some of the modules.
I thought I'd foolishly take the Corsair for a stroll in Minerva to see how it runs after interdiction, but there's an irritating wing of four FDL's loitering around. One of them followed me after I high waked/woked to Nyx but my shields got slammed by something when I turned after a couple of interdictions. I thought it was best to aim for a station while I had 30% hull left.
I may finally do some hull engineering before the next attempt because I may not have even fully done the main hull and the Corsair has more reinforcements than the Krait.
Also, ganking in a wing is kinda lame. Better luck next time, chaps.

...Yeah...I finished my 'testing' at Minerva in my zero re-buy Panther, sheesh! auto launch and undocking out of Starlace Terminal's is a &***%$ nightmare!....most times I had to take over the controls fly manually and be a bit 'bullish' in getting out of there.

Of course the usual 'scallywags' were waiting just outside, bless their little cotton socks...but with some 'honed' defensive techniques (if your too slow to fight 'em then be very very good at strategic withdrawal...gracefully

). I managed to avoid most of them. Though truth be told, one did cut through my shields pretty damn quick and damaged my hull by about 4% before I was able to jump out. The Panther when beefed up is quite a tough old bird, but at a quick guess I'd say at the moment not
quite as good as my Cutter....we'll see, after some more engineering.
As for the 'scallywags'...shame really, there was a couple of the same commanders that tried it on twice...the usual stuff, no hails or attempt at communication, so in to my blocked list they go. I don't really like doing this but

.
Anyhow, the testing did confirm my doubts about Open and CG's etc. it's best for me to do those in Solo. Strange...almost immediately after some of these confrontations the commanders went offline?...not sure what's happening there.
Okay, I'm doing some nice restful mining here outside the bubble this morning, while I'm having breakfast. Unfortunately I've got some very serious and neglected RL tasks to do today, and not what I'm looking forward to...as I've said somewhere on this forum, jobs that should've been done years ago, and have now come to bite me on the a*** .

Edit...Attic / loft 'clearance'.

Still...I hope to probably jump back into the game this evening for a few hours play!
Jack
