Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I used DC for long time, because I had problem with manual docking. Sometimes it missed the mail slot, but never caused to station open fire. Then I started manual docking in my small/medium ships. Right now I have no problem to docking even my Cutter. Not harder than with smaller ships.

It almost looks like our buddy Patrick Rothfuss was right and practice makes the master. :)

Yeah, I have solved the problem meanwhile - I didn't realize at that time, that I had illegal passengers on board resp. that the information about it is above my fuel gauge, where one wouldn't expect that - but instead in the info window :)

........ I can’t remember which system the Bug Killer is in but that’s my preferred Raw material pick up point, nice and flat. Though I was daft enough to xeno scan a Thargoid in my feebly shielded Asp last time I was there and failed to make it out. ...........

I got so fed up there the other night that I emptied my buggy's guns into the space cabbage - no difference, it ignored me as usual.

BTW - Orrere - yukk - I assume we still fall through the planet surface there? Really annoyed me that place. Never been back again. (Koli Discii for elements, Cobra for encoded - those are my normal preferences as you only get the three element types at the Bug Killer)

Yes, I’ve always been ignored when I’ve been in my SRV. Although I’ve never tried shooting them before. I’ve since got rid of the xeno scanner on my bubble Asp as it’s clearly pointless (or simply dangerous) for a slow(ish) and weak ship. It’s now on my T10 Goid Botherer.....when I’m back up and running I may well find out that the result is much the same just with a far higher rebuy!

I ran into a pulsar cone by accident earlier. Worrying loss of control but we came through it OK in the end.

Also, my Clipper landed at a planet base using the DC. As it hit the pad, COVAS informed me my hull had been compromised. I shall pay a visit to coder who programmed my DC and have words.
Probably cam wear, or maybe a bit of grit in it somewhere. Anyway much more likely to be the machinist rather than the coder. Docking computers are completely mechanical after all, why do you think they mass a tonne.

On high gravity planets the DC might eventually set the spacecraft down on the pad a bit harshly - but the damage shouldn't be high.

Did you get the FSD overcharge? Good opportunity to travel a long way in one move :)

Forgot about that! I'll have to investigate ;)

Didn't get to the crashed Conda as I would've liked so my next venture may be Jamesons Cobra. I'll have to use long and lat co-ords to find it which always bakes my noodle.

Well, made it to Jamesons crashed Cobra. Um... apart from scan the data points, what else is there there? There's some cannisters laying around I could collect but they don't look all that valuable. Do I have to scan all four data points again to get more data mats? I'm missing something here...

Nevermind! Sussed it!

Finally went to have a look at the Ancient Ruins and grab some obelisk data stuff.

Getting pretty good at finding parking spots now
:D

Haven't played for a few days due to circumstances beyond my control. Grrr. What do you give someone suffering from Elite withdrawal?

Perhaps, until the time comes to re-kickstart the habit, anaesthetic?

It depends on the circumstances, if it is a lack of time I would suggest stimulants so that you would be able to play instead of sleep, if it was a lack of internet then get yourself a mobile setup and borrow a friends access or go to a shopping centre and use theirs, alternatively you could try substituting some other addiction such as intoxicants (C2H5OH is popular) or science fiction.

I got about 20 minutes on finally so nipped to a RES. I need a little more engineering but a thought occurred: the biggest wanted guy I shot was a Krait. I've never seen any large boats.

Is there a specific scenario as far as RESs are concerned for large vessels to show? Or is just RNG?
