Changes after a new material has been added to the mix of things mineable in rings is inevitable but all mining is profitable and somewhere there will be something that pays over the odds which someone will find and another gold rush will start.

Absolutely although I do wonder if things will change in Borann after those Fleet Carrier whassisnames come in.

There already was a report about another triple hotspot - just can't remember right now (because I really don't care ) whether that was for beta or current live game.

The departure wake shows up as a white marker in the radar? Or should I just keep checking the contacts?

To me it has always shown as a white icon on the sensor display. That shows up even when the actual ship icon has not been showing - must have a longer detection range.

It will be on the contacts page too, this is why I always turn to scan the scum as the wake marker in the contacts page then shows their name - so I know it is the low-life not some miner.

As usual, i find myself on the other side of the galaxy when interesting stuff happens.I still haven't got to grips with the intricacies of core mining, nor am i likely to in the forseeable future.And though i could, i suppose, have taken the swift road to the bubble for the beta, i chose not too, instead wandering along my somewhat erratic and seemingly purposeless way amongst the stars.

Having forded the Arcadian Stream along it's western boundary, picking up the odd notable feature amongst the plethora that abound, I eventually pierced
the southern border of The Veils, plunging ever onward and after an incursion of several hundred light years, paused to consider my options.

I spent a pleasant hour or so examining the map,eating dinner and enjoying the view as a nearby planet rolled across the sky..
To my right the Trojan Belt, to my left, the Formorian Frontier. Ahead lies Acheron. Names rich in history and redolent in lore But which direction to choose?

Or perhaps i'll get a better view from the roof, or the basement, it's not too far, either way.

It seems the addition of Tritium fuel to rings well wipe out the triple hotspot. So yes. The local stations will be full of mothballed mining Pythons and Cutters until another triple is found. Welcome back core mining.

Um... well, I didn't go into the black as planned. Instead, I ised the 'Conda and made my Cutter a miner. It's called "Mass Sponge Migration" until I find a better name. Not sure how it will pan out yet as I'm just working out an inexpensive loadout with what I have. Good fun though!

EDIT - eek, the "ised" had something before that got filtered out. Ah well.

Finally unlocked Chloe Sedesi ... yay, pinned clean drives!
She was a bit unfriendly until I bought a 2A enhanced thruster and engineered it fully. I guess it will fit well on my old sidewinder ...

Make sure you have the drive distributors experimental - it maximises the speeeeeeeeeed on the Sidey.

Depends. With drive distributors, you can get a 717 m/s indestructible (well, nearly) fun ship. With drag drives, you can gain 30 m/s, but need to loose some mass.

This reminds me I have some work to do on my (soon to be) 932 m/s iEagle that currently maxes out at 899 m/s ... Still, there is something special about the pimped out sidey.

I'm being dense...what did you do to your Conda? You didn't sell her did you?

Oh no. I just took the modules away from her and gave them back to the 'Vette and Cutter she borrowed them from. She's now back to being the jumpaconda she was originally. The Cutter is a much better miner - has more cargo space, flies faster and is more manoeuvrable.
