Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I did try a VO hotpspot yesterday (or maybe the day before) but all I found was alexandrite cores. Well, I did find one but I failed the detonation requirement so that was ... annoying :D

Where did you find the 70million? I was looking at EDDB and I could have got 800k per, but the market for that was a heck of a long way off.

Well prices have fluctuated since I posted and there are less decent demands with over 650,000/t prices - but the 112 x 640k figure I used to get over 70MCr is still not too bad, and that is without any 800K+ markets. So to actually answer you, I used INARA commodities search, filtered out carriers and used Gladutjin as a abase system this now produces:

This is a bit lower than earlier but I didn't take a screen-grab then.

I won't comment on any of that because I have a habit of getting threads modded. I am life's eternal victim, Pixie.

Fair enough. I'd spent my $1,200 of pandemic stimulus money on my Quest, since I already have bills handled. Not that 1,200 would have covered more then a month and a half if my normal income had failed due to the pandemic. I work from home, and make less then $800 a month. My bills total up to around $717 a month. Fortunately, I'm self employeed and it doesn't take up much of my time each week. Maybe 5 hours total in a given week, sometimes up to 10 hours is spent on work. So plenty of time for video games.

So all I really need is a VO hotspot that actually yields VOs. A job for the morrow!

Okay, time to eat some supper, put on some dorky looking headgear, plug in some earphones, and fire up the Adder. I feel the need, the need to barter!

Wait... Need to work on that a bit.

The need for speed. God Damn it, Pixie.

But I wasn't going particularly fast (compared to other starships and my possible max speed)? I was maximizing profits per stop, not speed.

Which, by the way, I'm now 300,000 credits richer, and my rep as a trader is 48% of the way towards the next rank.

I don't even care why I quoted him three times.

Because you felt strongly about it? I ended up reading all 3 quotes to see if you changed it in any way.

EDIT: I decided to sell my limpet controller for now in favor of another 2E Cargo Rack. Which meant I could accept two delivery missions and still buy some cargo of my own to sell at the next station.

I‘ve just clocked off after a most satisfactory evening of continuing the HIP survey slice allocated to me :)

No first discoveries tonight (though I have 4 real stars to my name now, which has made me very happy!), but en-route to one of my target stars, I passed through the very first undiscovered system that I surveyed, over 2 years ago! No one has been in there since, or if they have, they haven’t mapped any of the ice planets that was all the place consisted of. :D

The iClipper continues to impress me as a luxurious and high-performance craft to take out exploring. I’d recommend owning one at some point :)

It's the view from the bridge. Unobstructed and very underrated as an explorer.

The only issue that prevents me from taking her out for longer walks more often is that she can be hard to land at some places. And her wimpy legs look ridiculous while parked on the surface. Okay so two things.
But otherwise Clipper is an excellent exploration ship. (y)

I've no idea what that meant.

If you refer to my post... I'd forgotten to change my power assignment after a pirate attack, so I only had 1 pip in engines for most of my runs tonight. The rest were 2 in shields and 3 in weapons. Thus speed was not something I was focusing on, thus I didn't feel the need for speed. Instead, I was maximizing profits via grabbing as many courier and delivery missions going to the same place as I could, then filling any remaining cargo space with goods to sell when I got there. This let me make 100k credits each trip, 3 trips total.

As for selling my limpet controller for more cargo space, currently I can buy a controller but can't get any collection limpets because it has an allowed stock of 0/0 and I can't find anything in the starting systems to change that. Thus I'm not even trying to do any mining right now since I find trying to scoop up the minerals myself to be a pain. Since the drone controller has been useless so far, I replaced it with 4 more cargo capacity. That I am finding much more useful. :)

The 0/0 for limpet capacity means that you have zero limpets stored in your cargo racks which have zero space available.

Interesting!

I'd never thought of a Clipper as an explorer. Think I'll take a look at building one!

I'd kind of assumed that. Since I can't find anyplace in the 10 starter systems that I can buy limpets at (even if my cargo hold is empty), I'm guessing they aren't available until you go out into the wider galaxy.
