Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I quite like the in-gmae stuff. But, if pushed, I would play Astropilot, Solar Fields and Easily Embarrassed for a general spacey feel. For combat, I don't do music, but O Fortuna from Carmina Burana by Orff or Holst's "Mars" might be apropos.

I think I'd be hard pushed to beat the Blue Danube for docking though, purely for sentimentality.

Canopy on Python got smashed, with the oxygen timer counting down to zero, I noticed that the orange target circle used to navigating to landmarks is missing (where the missing glass is), if I pitch/yaw the ship sideways the orange circle re-appears where the glass at the side is still in place. Supercruised as fast as I could back to Ohm City, manually adjusting by pitching the ship to see that I am on course.

Autodock took over when timer was about 24 seconds, should be enough time I thought but the timer was reading under 6 seconds as I approached the advertisements at the dock opening. Rammed the throttle to override autodock and hit the boost, went in half-sideways and found out that once you enter the opening, atmosphere is restored to the ship (no need to park). Python cant brake for crap and I slammed into the other end of the station but no warning message or fine came (they dont care about speeding ships bashing the interior of their stations huh?). Timer says 0 seconds. So excited I forgot to take a screenshot.
So lucky that it wasn’t an outpost!

All the stations with a slot have an atmosphere once you get through the slot, you actually have to land on the pad to get air at an outpost, back in the day I lost my canopy and flew to the nearest port which was an outpost the air ran out when I was just meters above the pad I might have made it if there had been a little more canopy left to display the HUD on.

on my way to do a bit of Data (obtaining) hacking on Su base Authority (so it legit then). got to Base and found out the hard way not to overshoot like tom cruise singing highway to the danger zone! has their a turret lock on to me t6 and took me Hull down to 4%.
landed a few km away (3km) : lol and drove the little SRV to his fate.

destroy 2 turrets, Stole (obtained) the legit data. all to a timer counter that i just couldn't get away from 0:00 secs left. Ship goes boom and i end up in A weird place called a detention center.
back to Su base. claim 1.2 million for mission complete.
:hahaha

I decided that my carrier could be a viable home and, as such, I have now transferred all ships and modules to it, thus moving out of Jameson Memorial entirely.

I may do a few more painite runs and fully equip the beast with a shipyard and outfitting workshop as well as a redemption office and a secure trading desk. I'm not sure yet though. I do like the idea of becomimg fully (sort of) salf-sufficient but I need a little more cash and I'll have to work harder for the UC. Another long-term goal then.

I'm also thinking of doing more CZ's. Hazres combat is a bit fish-inna-barrel (not onna stick) so I feel something a little more challenging is needed. Although, thinking about it, I could take on some higher threat NHSS's.

A really, really long-term goal is a visit to the galactic centre but I tend to go a little doolally if I'm out in the black too long.

So, to go full circle, I may just hope to Skeggiko O and check out the costing of a fully armed and operational death star carrier.

Actually, looking at it... I might just add a redemptioin office for now. As well as "outstanding vouchers" (bounties?) and comba bonds, does this also allow the hand in of data? For example, the credits you can gain by scanning that communications point in Dav's Hope that you can hand in to the Alliance and Empire?

Right now sampling Core Mining in Asteroid Belt Clusters.

Only a single per Cluster so far - but persistent on the few I checked. Nice, that makes these things useful again after a very long time :)

Note that equipping outfitting is a pain as you can only buy modules in prepackaged bundles which will probably leave you with unwanted units wasting your precious storage capacity.

Yes, agreed. Speedcuffs also raised the concern.

Given that, I've decided not to equip outfitting or shipyard. The only service I think I will add is a redemption office but I need to check the range of facilities and what "hand ins" it provides.

I have arrived back in the bubble. It was quite a long journey, all the way to the core and back. You can see the big loop I took. My travel map looks more complex, anyway :)

Now I need to regroup and decide what interests me. I've just been exploring for so long, other things seem strange :p
