You like the type 7 for mining?
Since I don't have the $$ for a full A-rated vette. I'm going to use it for mining at the moment lulz.
Its my first time...mining.
Oh, cool. I enjoy mining. Never had a Type 7 though.
I mined a fair bit in a Krait MkII back when core mining was hot, hot, hot.
Now I mostly laser mine in a Cutter.
I haven't mined since Odyssey launched though. I've been thinking about it
Not wish to be a smarty-pants, but one time, I cut my fuel to where it was showing nothing on the gauge. I'd never been so empty before. Except once when I was away, and had left her idling in SuperCruise and when I got back, empty.
Well, you know what you have to do and it wasn't contact the FuelRats ........ 
.To get back to the main story; I was right outside an outpost, so I put her in Autodock, and just preyed. She docked safely.
There was some HyperSpace fuel left, so maybe she used that. My lovely Hauler refueled with 202 units of fuel. Not sure what she carries but it looks like she took 2 units beyond full. I was so pleased.

The major issue with the Type 7 for mining is the size of the hardpoints which limits the type of core mining you can do and means that laser mining can’t be done as fast as possible, on the other hand its reputation of being one of the easier ships in which to avoid interdiction by NPCs does help it get all your hard work to market.
Magnificent overkill, it is just a shame there are no huge mining lasers available.

The tactical ice paint job is even better than sqaudron one (arx saved for ship kit instead, or some golden shining blink blink skin).
1 ton at a time, IIRC.
My other type 7 is in the top 1% of passengers liners...Oh, cool. I enjoy mining. Never had a Type 7 though.

I'm doing laser mining at present, but going to read more about it, mining in general, right now. Need to increase my haul, but not really interested in core mining yent. I know there is an abrasion blaster and something else I can used before resorting to core. I think I'd want a different ship for core mining anyway.

Read that and you'll know more than most miners, and avoid most of the mistakes. It's a bit disorganized and could use an index, but the info is good

Discovered a system today that had 4 Water Worlds, 2 of them terraformable. It also had 4 terraformable High Metal Content worlds, one of which was landable with an atmosphere.
Total value of the system when I sold the data was just over 22 million.
I decided to land on the one landable HMC since it had an atmosphere and was terraformable both. I haven't run across one of those before. Here's how it looked on the surface. It doesn't look all that hospitable.

Hmmm, i thought we can only land on planets without atmosphere, at least cannot in Horizon.
Then is there any heat up animation like this in KSP?
Would looks great in ED ships!!!
for mining i gone for the asp.
materials are all bugged in asteroids fields ATM so don't bother. wasted 3-5 hours trying to get them. Although the limpets are quite funny watching them spin around in circles trying there best to get the mat's (not recommend for too long - never know who lurking around)

In Odyssey we can land on planets with very thin atmospheres, too. Not enough to produce any entry problems or heat build up.
Makes the sky pretty.

If you drop into the ring away from any of the Resource Extraction Sites (RES) you should only get visited by representatives of the local pirate/police communities* just after your arrival, once they have checked you out and seen you have nothing but limpets they leave.
You won’t get another visit unless you leave the ring and return or log out and then back, when they visit this time you will have to fight or run assuming you have now got any cargo other than limpets.
* (usually the former occasionally the later sometimes both)
