Landed over the hill from a threat 3 minor wreckage, and used the scorpion to get there.
The scavs were waiting, so I started shooting on the way in 200m out. Thinking the scorpion should be a hard enough ground assault vehicle.
The scavs moved out of the way and only lost shields when hit. The rocket launcher only got one or two after their shields went down.
Tried to run over a couple of them. They got stuck on the front bumper and were still trying to shoot me??.
Eventually I lost shields and blew up. Lost the battle, so not as hard as I thought. more practice needed. (n)

From what I've seen so far the good old Scarab is a better combat vehicle because you can actually hit stuff with it from out of range. And when you run over NPCs they die.

The Scorpion's gun has too much jitter and the targets are small. The rocket isn't enough to kill by itself, one hit just drops their shields.

I'm unimpressed with it as a combat vehicle, actually :)

I picked up a Scorpion yesterday and am in the process of trying it out, I am also trying to see what issues I have following the patch there might be some but it could have just been patch day instability. I have seen the fire groups issues and the one with missing items and controls not working went away with a log to the main menu, I have also seen some of the other reported issues.

First thoughts on the Scorpion are I like it.
It feels more planted than the Scarab and the sound seems better, the lack of the wave scanner is going to take getting used to.
The view in turret mode is sharper and the information displays seem better.
The main gun is a little disconcerting as it seems to have a lot of scatter at first but tightens up a lot if you keep the trigger held down, I haven’t had a chance to really check the missiles yet.

I took a mission today to download some data from a powered-down settlement. I would have to use my own Power Regulator to bring the base online, then locate the data port, download the data, and then retrieve my Power Regulator. Piece of cake, right?

I got the message that scavengers were going to be there. No problem, I like fighting scavengers. When I arrived there were about 15 of them, even though the mission said there would be 8.

I killed all of those, but the mission counter said 7/8 killed. I don't know where number 8 went. AWOL I guess.

I moved on to restoring power. Went back to my ship, switched to my Maverick suit, and decided to drive back in the Scorpion, just for fun. The power room was embedded inside a large complex of labs and hydroponics, though, and it took me a while to even find a suitable entrance. I left the Scorpion in the middle of the base as I searched.

As I was cutting open the first panel, 15 more scavengers descended, unknown by me. They found my Scorpion, apparently, because I suddenly got the message it had been destroyed. This is why I don't usually take an SRV into the base, but I thought it was clear. My first Scorpion death, lol.

Alerted to the presence of the new scavengers, I decided to take care of them before continuing. I went back to my ship again, got out the Dominator suit, and proceeded to engage the little rats who blew up my SRV. Once they were dealt with, it was back to the ship, put on the Maverick suit, get a Power Regulator, and return to find the Power Center in the labyrinth of labs.

I got to the Power Center, almost out of battery from all the doors I had to overcharge. I only had access level 0, and there were no dead residents with IDs to clone.

I started to put the Power Regulator into the system when I realized I would not be able to turn it on without an ebreach, because it would require access level 2.

Grumbling, I went back to my ship again, and got an ebreach, slogged back to the power station, and finally successfully got the base online.

Awesome. Now I just needed to find Lab Data Port 3 and download the info. There were 2 labs in the Facilities tab, so I went to each. I found Data Port 1 and Data Port 2, but not 3. I searched for some time and could not find it.

Sooo, back to my ship to get another ebreach (I knew I should've grabbed 2 the first time!), so I could hack a terminal and pinpoint the data port, which required access level 2.

It turned out to be on another floor, but at least now I had a marker for it. I found it at last and downloaded the data. Success.

I returned to the Power Center and shut it all down again, so I could get my Power Regulator back.

Finally done, I went to turn in the mission. Darn thing took me an hour and a half, and cost me a Scorpion. I had fun, though.

And here's an update on the newest co-pilot, now 6 months old :)

Yeah, sometimes when everything goes wrong it is the most fun...but not always...

i'm mining my own business : boom boom

gold, silver and my newest friend Musgravite that can sell for 1 mill per tonne.
accepted a mission to eradicated a ship only to find that it was 4 escorts all with mines deployers.:( took my ship out within 2 secs.

couple of adder errors to with the new update, seems to be at random times.

first was during an asteroid material pickup (manually - no limpets)
second was going to the shipyard.

here something i found but could not get it to go to codex.,ping it with the tool.but wouldn't register.

Usually, my experience in these situations is that, when I am finally ready to download the data and loot the place, my PC crashes and goodbye regulator, e-breaches, loot, progress, etc.

That would be annoying as heck. The game ran flawlessly for me today, no slowdowns, no crashes, nothing. I got lucky I guess :)

Looks like a bacteria of some sort. People have been reporting problems with the exobiology scanner since the update, though. Seems to be a new bug that prevents scanning some stuffs.

Tonight I popped over to the Pleiades region to supply materials for Salvation's counter offensive. Once I finished with the deliveries I figured I'd take a few of my AX ships out for a spin at at least setup the fire groups again. While in my FAS I dropped in on a cyclops and snagged a meta alloy before bagging a kill. While waiting for the cloud to dissipate to claim the heart I noticed a string of flickering lights. This is when tonight took a turn for the strange.

Curiosity got the better of me and soon I was approaching the odd sight. A string of lights crackling with energy sat carefully arranged before me.

I've bagged well over a 1000 interceptor kills of various types. I've seen all manner of stellar phenomena and more than a few glitches in my time. This however was new despite probably a glitch. I crept forward for a closer look.

Not quite satisfied I crept closer still. Caution giving way to curiosity.

mt4WheI.png

As I edged ever closer, the flickering flights danced playfully before me. Like a sailor called by a siren or a moth drawn to the flame I move forward with no concern for my safety.

The light enveloped me and my cockpit. I was left rattled but unharmed. I hope Salvation moonlights as a Xeno exorcists. There be space Ghosts here!

Hmmm EDH CMDRs, could you have a test as follows: In station, go to "Fitting" then click "Stored Modules". See if you crash to desktop or not?

Crashed 4 times for me, 100% crash rate. 🤷‍♀️

I was going to mass stripping the modules on my conda...

Edit: See the thread about this somewhere now..... 🤦‍♀️

This has been reported over in the news threads about the updates and appears to be hitting all console players and many PC players using Horizons. Some seem to see it as the end of the world.

There is a fix patch being prepared for Monday hopefully they will have one for this in there.

I'm curious, what were they?

I "don't get out much" as it were, and seeing weird stuff piques my interest.
