Question: When you guys go out in the black and reach the point you're going to call it a day, do you log off of the game in space or do you land first?
Or does it really matter?
Thanks.
I've only gone out once, about 6,000 light years, but was so paranoid I went all the way back home to Deciat the same day.
Yes.Question: When you guys go out in the black and reach the point you're going to call it a day, do you log off of the game in space or do you land first?
Nowadays it doesn’t particularly matter, the important thing is to remember to log out of the game otherwise you will run out of fuel and your ship will explode.Or does it really matter?
This can;t be stressed enough...ESPECIALLY when one is out exploring......Nowadays it doesn’t particularly matter, the important thing is to remember to log out of the game otherwise you will run out of fuel and your ship will explode....
What you have done is made it easier for active player factions to expand into your system - they don't need to retreat any non native factions to get in. If there are less than 7 factions in a system, the door is open for another faction to expand in.I’ve managed to push a player faction out of the system I‘m reorganising. Another non native faction is in Retreat and will be packing their bags in a few ticks time and I’ve managed to push the faction that originally controlled the system down to 9% influence. Their time is coming too.
Once they’ve disappeared the four Native factions will have complete control of their own destiny and my work here will be done.*
After all that, and seeing so many cool screenshots here, I may need to go and cleanse myself in the deep Black. Just realign the old chakras and sip a Long Island Iced Tea or two whilst watching a Neutron star cannibalize it’s companion star….there’s nothing more soothing than large scale destruction.
* I’m not entirely sure whether I’m saving a people from an occupation or forcing peaceful migrants from their homes in an act of horrific purging. I need to find comfort in the darkness![]()

A few years ago it mattered as because things move all the time if you logged out in space in the path of some rock or station there was a chance when you logged back in your ship and the object could be in the same place at the same time which could lead to issues.
It's a bit late now but I believe Elite Observatory allows you to bookmark samples...This is odd. I saw a target marker so I went towards it. When I got up to it, it looked like a gold vein within a rock, but I can't target it or do anything with it. I got out to take a closer look but didn't want to scan it because I've got two of three samples I don't want to throw away.

Any advice?

Yeah. Depending on the planet and the type of rock you find, you can get raw mats of various grades that way. In the olden days it was the only way to get them.I finally targeted it with the turret and shot it. It blew into some chunks of Sulphur.
I still do lots of that...sometimes I can spend days roaming around in the Scarab...on the right body of course. And bodies iwth Geo activity have lots or rares too and usually really good driving conditions and scenery...Yeah. Perfectly OK, pal. I'm new to all of this so telling me something 3 or 4 times is pretty much required. It is a mesosiderite (one of the game's meteorite types).
(EDIT - I see you discovered that in a later post, sorry.)
