Errr, not going very well... but survived.

Spontaneously made a trip over to Guarijio. In the Stargazer, as I was too lazy to dump the leftover Limpets and change the ship.
In the end, it was a good idea, as I found some Imperial Shields out in the wilds, there. And it was quite nice to be talking to some commanders out there, first time for me, as Suhte and the vicinity seem to be quite quiet in that regard...
I think I will stay out there for a little longer, as there seem to be some nice spots for material collection.

It's back to basics for me, I figured the limpets weight thing for the carrier, now I'm re-engineering my Imperial Cutter for faster mining than what I get from my Type-7.

If it's possible to mine with a Type-7, it will take you forever to buy you only a jump, since I'm looking at extended range for exploration with the Carrier, I need to fit a ship that's gonna do it a lot faster, so it's Weapon focused X 5L and Flow Control experimental effect, using the blueprint from Etienne Dorn but right now I'm on my way to Kuwemaki where my Carrier awaits and Hera Tani provide with the special effect, she only do L3 Power Distributor upgrades.

The ship is fitted with 4 X 2D Mining Laser [Fixed], 1 X 5A Prospector Limpet Controller, 2 X 5B Collector Limpet Controller (for limpet performances in range and lifespan), 1 X 4A Refinery, and a 0D Pulse Wave Analyser, 1I Detailed Surface Scanner will reduce cargo capacity by an extra 64.

With that, I have 512 cargo capacity, meaning I'll have to compromise on carrier range due to the number of limpets I'll need to use, but only by about 1000t.

All in all, a Fleet Carrier is not necessarily a good deal on long range expedition to the middle of nowhere, if you can't find a Tritium reseller at market cost it's still an issue, and until developers will have sorted this out we'll be limited, right now, I'm not sure I can reach the Inner Orion Spur and back from a station where I can reliably rely on a full tritium top up.

On the other hand, with a range extended to its maximum with a suitable number of limpets on board, you can get a ship like my Krait Phantom a lot closer to where you want to go and back.

Stay put for more rock & roll...

I am not sure that having 4 prospector limpets out at once is necessary or a good idea I am sure I couldn’t cope with them, consider a size 3 or size 1 prospector controller and put another collector controller in the freed up size 5 slot to get enough limpets out there to keep up with all those lasers.

There are multlimpet controllers available in game now but I am unclear how you get them or what other than I believe mass the disadvantages are.

I have/had my mining lasers on my secondary trigger which had a secondary binding of a rotary switch so I could lock them onto continuous fire additionally the collector limpets were on the same trigger which meant that a new limpet was launched whenever one expired.

Add this to the list of surprise fees: The more ore you add to your carrier, the more the weekly costs goes up.

Ive put 1,000 tons on board the last two days and my costs went from 7 million a week to over 9 million per week.

Gonna go explore for a bit to put some more credits in the carrier just in case.
Maximum for mine is 50000 Units, I always start a trip with this load, all I did recently was to swap limpets for Tritium space.

At the moment I'm not worried about weekly costs, it's part of my trips preparation (clearly I was far frmom being ready last time), I take a good care to give plenty of credit to the carrier but also ships so as to be able to affoer whatever I need, mostly Tritium.

Now my mining capabilities are up to date, I'll be doing some more bounty hunting to make sure I can buy the tritium without depleting the carrier finances credit too much.

I think that multilimpet are size 7, and considering their performances it is effectively a better option. First their range is the same (9,100m), their their life time is Infinite, Power Draw is 1.10 MW vs 2 X 0.700 MW , so it's all gain, I'll be looking for one.

In any case, I'm looking for range and lifespan for limpets, so that I can get away from the rock I just mined without getting out of their range and see them last longer. I don't have to use all the limpet available but having those 8 limpets available give me the option and the ship can take it.

Since I'm not really keen in staying for hours in a rock field, 512 cargo capacity is more than enough, I'm more likely to only use half of it.

Thanks for the reminder.

Universal Multi Limpet Controller Prospector Limpet Controller

A good thing I didn't disarm the ship, I still have 3 Multi-cannon, 1 X 4A Multi-cannon [Gimballed] and 2 X all Overcharged X 5L and Oversized experimental effect, this way I was able to dispatch two pirats (1 Adder and 1 Viper) who intericted me on my way back to the Carrier... I didn't lose one single shield layer.

Ok, you ignored my first message, so I'll say this again. If you install the armory you can just buy limpets from it. You don't have to carry them in your hold. That's a very odd way of doing it.

So 43 LY away from that big 69 planet system I'm in, I came across a 64 planet system that looks a lot like it. The third ringed planet was this one that has 5 overlapping hot spots, three platinum and two panite. I've never seen anything like it.

That's what I'll need, only 24,008.25 LY away... That's 6,324 tons of Tritium...
