Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Enjoy that while it last. You don't get those in Odyssey. You actually have to go out and find the materials yourself with your naked eyes.
Well I'm doing that too, This planet turns out to be rich enough in materials.

Update: LC-C d3 Planert A1 A A. Geological signal 11 is a crater, I landed right in the middle of it, surface is smooth with a few rocks, slope manageable if you want to get out of it as there are plenty of material around it... Material range from grade 1 to 4 so far...

I am thinking about unlocking The Dweller next. But I kinda struggle with the black market.
How exactly does that work?
You will find the Black Market under "Contacts" - if the station has one and it's not shut down.
Next, you'll need some cargo that is illegal in this station. Some stations/governments have forbidden items (often drugs/weapons/slaves) or you can steal stuff from other ships - anything that's marked "illegal salvage". Of course you'll need to bring it into the station without being scanned (that was before the ADC, btw.).
There's also an easy way - if you're prepared to take the hit in Rep: accept a (small - you don't want to be burdened with a huge fine in addition) delivery mission, pick up the stuff, then abandon the mission and keep the cargo. That cargo is now of dubious legality, so you can sell it directly to the Black Market, without even leaving your pad.

I figured that mapping a planet where you can't land might be useless, on the other hand, I'm mapping every single one suitable for landing, I think this will add to the amount of data I'll be able to sell later on.

There are no grade 5 raw materials (elements) any more, so 1 to 4 is all you get.

I see. Thanks.

The quickest way to do it is buy 5t of narcotics near Wyrd where the Dweller lives, and look for 5 different black markets to sell 1t to. Two black markets in one system qualifies.
Don't under estimate the benefit of a charge enhanced power distributor to combat and multi purpose ships. It's the third piece of engineering I do to a ship after FSD and thrusters.

Woah! Hang on! My dropship pilot sounds exactly like Joanna Lumley!
That just means you will be going in with the Gurkhas.

You guys seems to enjoy playing Odyssey, I read little about bugs which is a good thing, so do you think it is worth getting?

Also in terms of interaction with other players, I mean support, trade etc, not foot soldier stuff, which I'm not really into, is there enough in the game itself to justify playing Odyssey?

I had a miserable time playing Star Citizen precisely because of the bugs, that's why I haven't considered getting Odyssey yet but I might join the club.

Anyway, I'll be halfway to Athair IM-W f1-1841in a couple of jumps, I'll do a much more complete exploration of neighbouring systems and planets, most probably around Preia Phio LC-C d3, which is listed as Pristine by the Fleet Carrier Router, meaning there should be a source for mining Tritium there.

Although I'm not planning to mine it (I have more than enough on board), there might be other materials I'm interested in... I'll post a detailed scan of what I'll find there.
I like Odyssey there are a few bugs but then there are a few bugs in Horizons actually there will be more bugs than I am seeing as I haven’t done any sort of mission in months. I have done some on foot shooting which was fun but not enough so that I am missing it out here in the black but being able to get out of the ship is nice and I enjoy plant hunting.

Thanks for your reply!

I wasn't sure because of the bad press I read when it first came out and the fact that I just uninstalled Star Citizen at the time, I can't really deal with so many in-game bugs...
It is hugely improved over how it was when released even with a somewhat inadequate graphics card with a current generation card* it is superb.

*There are issues with some AMD drivers and cards but AMD are working on the drivers see the thread in the News section of the forums.

That is one reason why I want to go there.
I've never used it. (The black market)

But I've used the Dweller. A lot.
I do not have any real intention on using the black market. But as the Dweller seems to be quite fond of it and I want to meet him for a cup of tea/coffee/grog/whateverhotbeveragehemightenjoy...
