Found an Argon planet with five bio-signs, looking for fungi in the mountains.

Oh, there it is.

This planet (an Ammonia world) had a polar cap with canyons kilometers deep and I found some more wig plants.

Looks like I'm ready for fresh paint.

I just read a pretty cool article about the F-35 fighter, it would seem the UK makes about 20% of the parts that go into every plane and some say it wouldn't be possible without their help. I do know every ejection seat in every US fighter is engineered and built in the UK. And the UK is the only level 1 partner in it's development (F-35) meaning they contributed the most money.

Way to go, boys.......... (y)
A lot of this type of collaboration has gone on since not long after WW2.

Excellent pictures. Shows me there are more exobilogy types out there than I've ever seen.

I''ll give it another go another day. Perhaps it'll be daylight like in D2EA 's video....
The problem is that most of the guides, especially those on Reddit, are wrong. They combine the wrong maps for the wrong systems and have them numbered incorrectly and upside down a great deal of the time.

I discovered that the first time I went through it. It was a nightmare.

It's one of the many reasons I hate Reddit: they all steal content from one another in a half-way fashion and it all gets turned upside down.

The way I finally figured it out was:
  • I downloaded the maps to my backup system and had them all on the screen behind me.
  • I did a couple of flyovers of the site starting from one end to see which map I actually needed to use.
  • Once I knew which map to use, I oriented my ship to face the same direction on the base as the map was on the screen.
That's when I noticed that the labels on the towers were wrong.

After that, I knew exactly where everything was.

I've finished with exploration for a while, following my last lengthy trip to Hawking's Gap Region and back and following that I'm still Elite at exploration, but managed to get to Cataloguer in exobiology.

I've been doing assorted combat stuff since then, both in space at a compromised nav beacon I found and some ground CZ in Prthi which is a system at war. Here's a selfie I took of me looking gormless, still with my helmet on as I haven't found out how to remove it yet, and not holding any of my weapons as I haven't found out how to show those either when in a station, standing outside my Mamba at Noakes Gateway in Prthi:

I need to upgrade the jump range on the Mamba with engineering and try to solve the power problem with engineering as I need to disable stuff or change priorities otherwise it's overloaded. Might try to upgrade the weapons as well. Also, the Mamba has fantastic speed in combat but the turning circle of the Titanic, so I might try to find another combat ship with a good turning circle, but not one that also has the maximum speed of a Reliant Robin.

TIP: Earl Scheib will paint any ship any color for $99.95.

I'm going to give it up as a bad job. I have a poor sense of direction anyway and there is no NSEW on the SRV. I am completely lost....
I did try and setup the camera but, again the videos are so vague as to be nearly useless!
It is confusing at first, but the Guardian FSD is so good I'd say don't give up just yet. The Guardian shield reinforcement is also pretty good when you are more into combat.
I don't know which site you went to, but try Synuefe NL-N C23-4 B3 and use this map to help:
8zTJzcF.jpg

You need 21 units of Guardian Technology Components and there are I think 2 or 3 items to collect giving you 6 to 9 units. If you quit to desktop and log back in the pillars with green circles can have the panels shot off them again to collect more.

The above comes from here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/walkthrough-guardian-module-blueprints.438289/
and I made a few modifications myself.

Another map of the same site in case you find it easier to follow. It's in a different orientation to the above:

Aye that's what I'm now thinking. What's the point of increasing it from its current one of less than 15 LY to one of about 19 LY?
Exactly.

I did mine to level 3 I think simply because I had tons of materials. It's enough to get it to where it's going. Doing pirate missions, there's always going to be bases and carriers around so you can refuel, so it's no big deal really.

EDIT TO ADD: Yep. Level 3. https://inara.cz/elite/cmdr-fleet-ship/387867/3928747/

Did someone beat this game to death with the nerf hammer last night?

Seriously.

Mining was a complete bust, so I just jumped back in the Krait and headed out. Can't find a thing of interest. Just jumped into a system with 9 planets. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM landable with an atmosphere. Not a single biologic on any of them. None of them worth mapping.

Unbelievable.

I've never seen anything like this in the entire time I've been playing this game.
Different regions of space are...well...different....

I have a grade 5 engineered class 4 FSD that gets shared between infrequently used ships like the Mamba, Viper MKIV and FDL. Of course I always launch them from a carrier so the FSD is always available to fit. One of the benefits of having the carrier - it becomes more practical to use ships with bad jump range. Sometimes I even fly them with a 4E FSD if I don't need to leave the system the carrier is in to get to the fight.

I think the longest jump my Mamba has ever done was 9 LY. It has a range of about 19. I only use it for bounties, so I really didn't need to engineer it at all.

I did all my guardian missions in the Asp X. It was before I was enlightened and got a Phantom.
Most people seem to say DBX for guardian sites, but my second account went round them all in an Asp X and it no real trouble landing to do the business.
The first time I ever did it was in a Phantom at one of the harder sites to land at. I managed to find the one set of lat long coordinates and heading that enabled the Phantom to land. The point defence positioning on the front wing wasn't ideal, but it did work.
Synuefe NL-N C23-4 B3 has more even ground and may be a lot easier for a Phantom to land at. I've never tried as I had a DBX for shorter trips like this by then.
