What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I'm really considering changing my penguin habitat into a seal habitat. I'm pretty sure they will still have a 4m deep dive requirement, while I'm hopeful for the african penguin it might be reduced. And well, since I'm hoepfull we'll have a sea lion soon, I could have a sea lion habitat close to it and have a pretty realistic work zone, with keepers and educators responsible for both species, like you often have in real zoos.

Also, looking at Zoo Leipzig, I should not take the grouping overly serious. They have koala carers who also cares for aquariums and a predator carer who is responsible for the kangaroos as well, so... I shouldn't take things too serious again. I will, however, try to have the backstage pathes not interrupted by guests paths anymore that often.

I've been playing a lot of Ghost of Tsushima lately and I was inspired to jump onto PZ and start creating a cemetery/shrine (scenery rather than to be used as a habitat). So here's some WIP screenshots :):

I'm trying to decide what if any zoos I'm going to start expanding on for North America. I wish we knew more about the size of habitats the species require. We can infer, but just in case. the smaller circles I've been using should be fine for 3, maybe 4 of the habitat animals (not sure on the Cougar, but probably), the Moose is going to get an absolutely humongous enclosure, and I'm not sure I'll be using the Sea Lion or Alligator in the zoo I'm thinking this all out for. At least, not yet. Honestly, the Alligator hold the least interest in the pack for me, so while I know I'll use it somewhere, it'll probably just be at random.

What's everyone else doing? Are you preparing new areas of your zoos or holding off? Or just playing we have been, with whatever suits you for that play session?

I'm pausing Golding because I currently can't be bothered with an african area and are working on the new zoo Wingburg now. Still have some rawr buildings I want to make nice before the pack drops and I'll start the sea lion enclousre. Will maybe switch the african penguins with the seals. And I might also jump into Murmeldorf and clean up there a bit, to add a lot of the other NA animals sooner than I will in my other zoos.

Problem is: Don't know when. My card making order arrived yesterday and my stuff is screaming for me so.... can someone please give me around three weekends? Thanks.

I made some progress in the "Wiesenthal Zoo".

Last week I made this restaurant. Actually nothing special. But I like it. There is also a platform with seating from which you have a nice view of the canal and can see the other side.

In addition, an elevated railway and 2 new enclosures have been created.
Originally I had planned something else at this point, I had already started to build, but I didn't like it, so I tore it down again. Then, spontaneously, I had the idea of the elevated railway, which should go over the canal and roam different enclosures. Actually, it was supposed to be a kind of jungle trip, but then I decided against it because I don't sort the animals in this zoo by biome, but simply according to my mood.

Here are the 2 new enclosures for Gemsbock and Pronghorns.

The gabion wall is not mine, I discovered it a few days ago in the workshop

I have to see if I can get the monorail handled. This is my first transport ride, that I am building. So it can be good that I'll whine to you for some help with it.

And like always:
(it fills up slowly :D)
For the gap between the penguin and the arctic wolf enclosure, I'll wait and see what's in the new DLC.

Are you doing this in a scenario map or did you terraform it? In cas it is a scenario map, which is it?

The Dry Lands got a little less dry I guess.

I keep doing changes to this habitat, but it is getting better and better and bigger and bigger.
That newly build rock wall was calling for a waterfall, so I had to make it work even though I have very little experience with making those. I have to be satisfied with it now, because I have no idea how I can find all those tiny water effect things again.

Also added a viewing platform to the right. Somewhere around that hill in the back I will build something for cougars.

That's absolutely amazing 😍
Do you have a Thread for this Zoo?
Absolutely love this Bison Enclosure.
I do have a US-Zoo where I'm also keeping Bisons in a Desert Environment. Also Pronghorns, Jaguars, Grizzly Bears (because I thought about the extinct Mexican Grizzly while building) and a swampy Enclosure in the same Park that is already built since a very long Time, which will house Alligators (but getting them will probably also take a very long Time due to financial Reasons). The Mountain Lion and the Prairie Dog will also greatly fit into the Park

Looks great! @SalamAnders

I do not play PZ at the moment but today I thought about a justification to bring in a few more animals from the North American DLC into my Arctic section without changing the concept of it and making a full NA section out of it (which I don't want). The foxes are not the problem and I think moose are also fine in an Arctic section, they are at least sub-Arctic. But for the rest it's more difficult. Maybe I can choose the sea lions as well without totally loosing the concept. I mean there are sea lions which migrate into Alaskan waters from time to time. And the beaver may work as well. But I guess there isn't a place for the other animals in my zoo yet.
Just thinking out loud.

Its nothing to rare to show them of in an alaska section. My favorite zoo, the zoom zoo gelsenkirchen in germany does exactly that in there alaskan adventure, where the cali sealions are right next to the polarbears. And it looks great!

I dont know how good its visible, but on top of the light blue zone are the sealions and polarbears next to each other, connected by an underwater tunnel and underwater views. Overall im quite happy with how the dlc turned out, looking at this. Out of the 7 animals, 3 are used in this zoo, with the Reindeer and polarbear already been added in the arctic dlc. Cant wait to see some more of these animals make the cut in the next dlcs.
