What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I built a simple habitat for fallow deer in my new franchise zoo to do the research (I always like to research new animals in franchise before I use them in my sandbox zoos) and my first baby deer was very special:

I agree, the fallow deer is amazingly done, Frontier did an outstandig job on this one.
While I do not have space or plans for an extra Europe section in Biopark, I just have to find a space for at least the fallow deer. I will probably combine it with the Indian rhino (as a replacement for an axis deer). And the ibex could fit into the Himalayan section as a "Siberian ibex", they look almost identical.
Or I start a second zoo but honestly I don't know where I would find time for it 😂

Congratulations! I'm very happy they have 3 morphs (dark, light, and normal) and hope the normal one has multiple shades. I'll see it when I've downloaded the pack :)

The animal models are gorgeous indeed! While I researched the building pieces in my older franchise zoo, I decided to give the restaurants a go and I love them! Also, since my PC can't handle any more new habitats in this parc, I had this odd "loose end" above the big Asia enclosure. With the restaurant, I got the perfect wrap-up! Now I've returned to the new winter zoo and fill it with deer, I also installed my very first food truck.

Wow, that looks truly amazing. What is the ceiling made of? I am guessing billboards, but not sure. Great idea though. 👍
Well the ceiling is the part I went the laziest with. That is just terrain with the rough rock terrain paint.

Sadly this doesn't look nearly as good in daylight.

Looks great - how brilliant are the restaurants?

Oh, I would not recognize such texture, though it was a billboard image. Looks great. And I agree, unfortunately, even with the lights always on option added, indoors during day looks way too bright.

I started something new yesterday, to have something else to do other than my other zoo, New Zealand Getaway.

Take a first look at 'Petite Europe de la Guadeloupe'. This is a small zoo situated on the South American island of Guadeloupe. In this zoo they had the great idea to focus solely on very exotic animals: European animals of course, what else 🤩

I'm pleased to say that the 4m path fits the Dutch drawbridge! This. is. awesome. I still remember a European thread a while ago where people asked about Dutch building styles and architecture and what a Europe DLC could possibly feature. And I made a huge post about Dutch architecture and buildings and one of the things I highlighted was this drawbridge. And now it's here! ❤️ So happy.

Underwater viewing cave for Grey seals (aren't in yet) and a restaurant. Not sure if the candles are safe, but they sure are soothing and provide atmosphere.

For now, the overview. I started with Grey seals. I think I need to make the beach more sandy. It looks too green now I see it like this.
Fun fact: I live close to the Waddenzee in the Netherlands and there are a ton of Grey seals there. There's also a Grey seal sanctuary near me. The seals over there could only dream of an enclosure like this though, it's very bare bones and small in the sanctuary. Of course the seals that stay there are sick or injured and are nursed back to health before they are released again, so they aren't there for long.

The goals of this zoo:
Feature all European habitat species, and only use European foliage.
  • Completed:
  • Missing: Alpine ibex, Arctic fox, Eurasian lynx, European badger, Fallow deer, Grey seal, Moose, Polar bear, Reindeer, Wolf.

I build a restaurant/saloon in the style of the Olive Oatman Restaurant in Arizona for my Dry Lands section. I still have to work on the interior:

I love the memorial plaques and the new possibilities:
I absolutely love it. I'm still bad at building in that Style. The Memorial Plaques are interesting. Didn't expect that we can use them like that. Do they work without Electricity?
🤔 There are such great Possibilities like making smaller Information Signs, using them in a Botanical Garden/Plant House, making Signs that tell the Guests to disable Flash on their Camera before taking a Picture.

I was brainstorming about the City/Village that will be surrounding my next Zoo. I came up with a nice Name, the Idea for a old Building that has a Wine Bar with a Italian Name (could be hard to come up with a good one) in its Basement that can be accessed from the Outside, it will also be built around a River which will partially also flow through the Zoo (maybe I will put a Otter Enclosure there with a Tunnel that allows Fish to still safely swim to the other Side)
Just can't start with any of those great Ideas yet🙁
Please if anyone knows what I can do to fix the Problem on my Computer that prevents me from emptying the Hard Drive (Error 0x80070017) send me a Private Message. I can only find Solutions for which you need to be able to start Windows 10 and I'm desperate. I want to finally play again

This is actually from the weekend's work , but updating some info - those utility covers I made up? They work perfectly with the new food and drink table/stands. The ones that are not connected to an entire stall. I guess they have that stand at 1 meter height, and since that's height of most of these front walls, it's a match. I'm kind of happy about that.

Well, I ended up using an older entrance I made that I'd saved as a blueprint and then built a small badger habitat at the entrance to my zoo. Weirdly they rarely leave their hard shelter and go into the main habitat, but that might be a design issue. I kind of just wanted to throw it down and see what the badgers looked like, so I think I'll bench them and scrap the habitat and start more seriously.

My plan is to build an "old meerkat habitat" that has been repurposed for prairie dogs at the entrance (first North American animal I will have ever used). To the west of the entrance I'm going to add in the "Sutherland Zoo Wildpark", which will contain the new European species, along with the moose, Arctic fox, and timber wolf. Then the quintessental big African section which will include the new meerkat habitat, as well as an ape house for the gorillas and chimpanzees (and an "old baboon habitat" that has been refitted for mandrills - until we get baboons).

Other odds and ends I want to include in this zoo are a "Cold Weather Cats" section (Siberian tigers, snow leopards, cougars), and a "Tropical Zone" (reptile house, cassowaries, lemurs, giant otters, etc.), and a red kangaroo walkthrough that leads on to an Australia house (koalas + exhibits). I also want to do an Aquatics Centre for the grey seal, sea lion, and both penguins, but I'm not comitting myself to that as yet because I haven't played in a while.

I surprised myself with this build:). And great idea to use the memorial signs in a plant house! Not sure if you need electricity, I didn't pay attention to it. I hope you will soon be able to play again.

Just thought about if I did even try to use Command Prompt for this Problem, so at least I do have a Thing that I can try in a few Minutes
