What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Have been building African Modern Hotel Facade in tropical Botanica - it is an extension of a Greenhouse in the immense tropical gardens of the Botanica Resort - please can we have functional hotels in game - would be the best thing since soft butter :)

Imma tell y'all what I did last weekend and the weekend before.

So, i opened a new zoo, Quell's Covert, a safe haven for endangered species. I have southeast Asia, featuring babirusas, binturongs, sun bears, and gibbons. Proud of it.

Last weekend, I was having some writer's block, we'll call it. So I asked my bestie, I said to her: "hey, what do you suggest?" So i gave her the options, and she chose tropical Africa. So the next section i dedicated to her: Tropics Africa, featuring pygmy hippos, B&W ruffed lemurs, nyalas, and chimpanzees as the stars. This weekend, I'm not sure what area to do next, but I have some ideas

Well, I couldn't help myself and started a second zoo. Just had some ideas in mind which don't really fit to Biopark, so I thought let's go and look where this leads to.
In contrast to Biopark - which is not scrapped - my new zoo is more of a small to medium budget zoo with a more classical zoo look and a mixture of old, outdated enclosures and newer ones. It's built in the taiga biome (love the background!), so I thought about a location somewhere in Southern Scandinavia and it is supposed to have more smaller/medium sized animals, so no elephants, rhinos, giraffes or great apes but there'll be still some highlight species like sea lions, leopards and siamangs. I didn't come up with a name for the zoo yet, so if you have any ideas, just tell me! :)

Already built the first two habitats, one for the bison and the other one for the water buffalo; some minor details are missing though. I was going for a classical hoofstock enclosure style with dry moats and not much of landscape designing or furnishing.

In my city zoo, the lion habitat has been renovated from the old brick style and has turned into a more modern habitat with a big indoor viewing area for visitors and more space for the animals:

On the left side there's an elevated area from where the lions can be see on one side, and the cheetah on the other side (these still have the old style habitat).

My back is feeling good enough for me to play some this weekend. Started a new Franchise based out of Alaska, no animals in it yet, but it'll be Taiga based.

Also working on some log cabins. I know there's plenty on the workshop but I want my Imperfect(faux trademark) line represented lol. Working on just facility shells right now but will branch out later. And roofs too of course. Just mainly getting the walls/windows/doors up.

Also seriously Frontier ---- those vertical directioned wood grid walls? Please please please make a horizontal directioned set. Most log cabin type buildings are based on a horizontal axis, not vertical, at least from what I've seen. I'm no coding guru, but I imagine it wouldn't be that difficult to just take those existing pieces and turn them 90 degrees.....just a thought. Thank you!

I've been building a conference center and animal viewing area for the modern African hotel - just playing with theming and architecture :) The raised outer section is for viewing over a possible African Savannah style enclosure and the whole structure is built to have little impact on the environment below it and to maximise botanical diversity

The weekend starts with rhinos and wildebeest in my city zoo.

And the old giraffe house from the zoo has survided the renovations and now is on the middle of a mixed habitat with giraffes, ostriches and lechwes. Visitors can watch the animals on the ground level, but also from the second floor to be closer to the giraffe heads.

Not sure where I want to go animalwise with Yukon National Park. It's a Taiga and Temperate park, will primarily be log cabin style builds. I've got the Bison and Badger and plan on adding the Giant Panda next, but after that I'm not sure - I could really use a wolverine here..maybe one day!. I'm just glad I feel up to playing and have the next week to play more. Making it all a little more challenging using the sculpted map - yay skybridge! :ROFLMAO:

As I said, I'm totally in a slump since... a long time now. I still enjoy the game, but can't find a project I can stick to for month or years and just finish. So I decided to take a different root and just build habitats. Just habitats, no full zoos, just to keep playing the game and improvimng my building.
However, the first habitat I build with this mindset, a Bengal Tiger habitat, now found his home in Yuma Zoo. It took several sessions to build.
