What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I create a sloth habitat integrated to an habitat to show how you can do an unique WE and don´t to the same :)
I don't know why I missed this for days, but this is bloody brillian! <3
I have a hard time adulting today, so I game and this one here is judging my work on the finishing touches in front of the primary fence of the Przewalski habitat in Moonstone.

Guys, honestly, zoo hopping for the win here! I'm so much more motivated to play.

EDIT: Finished habitat... I put the Przewalski statues at the side of the viewing point, not pictured here.

Looks great, very realistic too

I have completed Basel Zoo. Now I do the Lisbon Zoo. And here are some photos of the Lisbon Zoo. I know there are no animals but first I like to make the enclosures and then put the animals. I will show Basel Zoo when I finish Lisbon Zoo...

There are 2 elephant enclosures. One with a male and a female. the one on the right. And the other a family, the one on the left.

Finally back at building. Working on an Asian section in my zoo, anyone has any idea if Malayan Tapirs could be housed together with Gibbons ? And I mean realisticaly, not just as an in-game mechanism.

Since the Bairds can be housed with Capuchins, I was wondering if this combo would also be possible, if anyone has any better knowledge about that, I would be grateful.

I happened to look it up and saw a pic:

So, I would say yes

Technically they're white-handed gibbons, but it's a gibbon nonetheless

EDIT: ignore last sentence, I was derpy. Thanks, @NZFanatic for correcting me

Gibbons with ungulates arnt an uncommon mix, as both partys can easily stay out of each others way.
The most ambitious mix i herd of was in a german zoo with siamangs, rhesus macaques, banteng and 2 species of asian deer charing an outdoor exhibit in the style of an african savanah habitat, which i sadly forgot which zoo it was in though.

Thank you both, Tapirs and Gibbons it is then. :)

The uncomfortable fact that gibbons are the least violent great apes and yet they will use every chance they have to annoy their roommates. Look at that gibbon poking the tapir's ear while the poor guy is like "whatever, leave me alone or at least don't hurt me". I love them both

Dropping here a video of that same enclosure (I think) because I knew I had watched something like it a couple years ago:

The South-east Asia area of Stringybark Zoo creeps closer to completion with the second of its large superstar carnivores, the Sumatran tiger. As usual the Adelaide Zoo was an inspiration for several components of this enclosure design, with the large pool on one side of the viewing area and the undercover viewing gallery on the other both being elements taken from one of their two tiger habitats.

(modded tigers removed for screenshots for obvious reasons)

The South-east Asia area is nearly complete now - I've already laid out where the gibbons are going to be, and I may or may not include one other smaller habitat in the remaining space I have available (potentially for the Komodo dragon). I've decided to build the reptile house elsewhere in the zoo rather than in the South-east Asia area as originally planned (the tigers, which were not initially planned to be in the zoo, took up that space), potentially sat between the tropical and drylands areas in the north of the zoo.

Back today with the penultimate habitat for the South-east Asia area, the lar gibbons! These are the first animals from the Tropical Pack I've built for, and they're a ton of fun. This habitat is viewable both from ground level and from a higher vantage point along The Floodplains boardwalk, right across from the water buffalos. Additionally, their shelter is fitted with one-way glass and so they're also visible whenever they're indoors.

Tonight I spent a couple hours constructing the final habitat for the South-east Asia area, the Komodo dragons! Although Stingybark Zoo is located in a region where it is warm enough for them to be kept outside year round, they could still become uncomfortable during cold winter days or periods of extreme weather, and so I gave the dragons a large, well-glassed shelter where they can be locked up whilst also still having access to sunlight and being viewable by guests.

There's just a bit of final landscape and foliage work (mainly the surrounding forest) I need to do and the South-east Asia section will be complete! This is pretty easily the best area of any zoo I've made so far, and I feel like my building skills have improved a lot even just while building this one zoo. To show how the zoo is coming along, I quickly threw together this map delineating each of the completed sections and listing the species within:

Onto the Drylands next.

I have a great idea for a zoo inspired by the layout of Wellington Zoo, but in Britain as usual, but I'm struggling to even get started. Once more I'm left hoping the next DLC is a bit more inspiring. I have played the Tropical Pack a little (just the gibbons, actually) but I don't know.

I did some things here and there on a few of my projects lately, like a peacock habitat in Yuma, some staff buildings in my water park etc.
Today I prepared my elephant house to be blue printed and be moved to another project I haven't started yet.
So, all just little things. Feeling a bit overwhelmed as of late, if I'm honest. But I'm currently not very creative in my other hobbies as well, so not the games fault. I am, however, looking forward to a new animal pack to see what it does for me.

You might like this build of mine…?
Oh that's really cool! Were I doing a faithful recreation I would definitely use that, but I'm mostly just using the zoo's layout. I actually planned on turning that area into a sort of tropical house with sloths, butterflies, and various exhibits.

Great job, though. I actually did look at that and wonder how I would go about recreating it before I changed my mind on what to do with it.

On that note, I actually wanted to play today after visiting Orana Wildlife Park, but the scroll wheel on my mouse is buggered which makes it impossible to navigate the game map (particularly in terms of rotation). So that's a bust until I can get a new mouse on payday.
