What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I tried to hide the enormous size of the exhibitss and make them more personalized and the result was this.
I honestly consider that the size is fine for large species but not for small animals like tarantulas xd

"The OakWood zoo was able to open the gates to the next enclosure of the America's Pavilion. 2 adult Capybaras and 1 Bairds Tapir. The Pavilion will remain closed as it continues construction and plans to open to the public late October. Make sure to stay up to date for more updates on this project."

I say October because I want to showcase some of the new animals in the Oceania DLC. Unfortunately I am only able to include 2 of 5 new species due to the layout plans already being organized, not to mention the Australia area was literally the only section complete and of course they add animals from Oceania lol.

I plan to relocate the planned area for Warthogs and replace that with a Penguin House. Then at the front entrance beside the butterfly greenhouse I can probably fit a building for the Flying Foxes.

Finished the last of my assignments for this term today and so I thought I'd build the little penguin and quokka habitats just to make sure they're ready on release day (so I have somewhere to place them and watch them for hours). Both are quite simple, but it just feels nice to have this coastal area fleshed out into a little section of its own!

Still undecided but I think I'm going to start a new project once the Oceania Pack drops, so these may be the last habitats I add to Stringybark Zoo for a little while. Still plan on returning to finish the zoo off later though.

Shame, i allways love an update to stringybark but im sure a new project will also look great

Started a new zoo. Blitzed the entrance and staff area, really happy with it. Couldn't decide what to do for a first habitat, so chucked in red foxes. Hummed and hahed over what to do next, put in red river hogs. Then I put in a gibbon island. Now I hate it. Bleh.

Might just start over. I want to have something in the works when the new DLC drops so I don't get hit with a blank slate. I want to have a decent chunk of the zoo done. In saying that, if the new Temperate Oceania map is able to be placed anywhere, I'm almost certainly going to start again anyway. 😅

I really should go back to sharing photos of my stuff again, but I always forget to take any decent ones.

Aw thanks! Thinking about it though, given I'm still so indecisive about it, I might just end up alternating between starting up my new project and continuing working on Stringybark. I'm planning for my next zoo (which is probably going to be some kind of Australian wildlife park) to go a lot harder on the detailing, realism, backstage areas and whatnot, generally just being the next step up from my current building style, so it'll be nice to have some simpler builds to break things up in between.

I've decided to start again. I've built a porcupine habitat and a fossa habitat under the work zone "Little Africa". I think I'll add meerkats/aardvarks, and then fennec foxes, a couple of gift stands, and that will be my entrance area finished. Then I think I'll build a kiwi house in preparation for the new DLC. After that I'll probably play random-style and put in whatever I feel like. Definitely want to make sure I get in the devils and little blue penguins as well, though.

Did the roof for my gorilla house, not sure if i like it but i also tend to struggle with that so idk if i could do it better.
Some suggestions or feedback before i decide if i let it grow on me or nah? Defenetly gonna decorate the interior a bit more with beams, planters, signs you now the jazz but first i wanna peace out with the roof and decide if we are cool or not

Maybe less glass? Just a thought since gorillas tend to prefer shaded environments.

Personally, I would make the area with the shingle roof higher than the one with the glass. I'm not a fan of the round glass roofs, they always look like train station roofs to me. If you lean more toward greenhouses, I think it looks better. but that's only my personal opinion.

I would do a natural roof, with planters, between the glass panels.

Yes. Stone panels using the same stone as the building, a little space, mulch and then plants (you want a little space betweeen the mulch and the panel to avoid roots going through the roof / panels and into the building).
