What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Yes. Stone panels using the same stone as the building, a little space, mulch and then plants (you want a little space betweeen the mulch and the panel to avoid roots going through the roof / panels and into the building).
The conservation grass roof panels also work well as a natural roof without the issue of roots poking into the interior.

Just a small thing today, since I'm stuck on how to improve the underwater viewing for the seals. I have added another small habitat to the entrance area, this time for the porcupines! Any feedback is welcome.

Its me again with my gorillas. After 2 hours of lots of finicky work, brainstorming and lots and lots of lag i finally build something im mostly happy with.
I tried to incorporate as much feedback as i could as all was quite nice. I introduced a height difference by raising the flat roof by 1 meter, perfectly lining it up with the roof pieces i used to top of the interior viewing, reduced in coming sunlight for more gorilla shade, put in the planters and propaply a third layer in the back with a small extra hud on top as the place where the stairs are and an implied shed for the gardening supplies, maybe more!
I defenetly like it alot more so i again wanna thank everyone for their imput as the house now not just looks better but also much more unique and inspired then the previous one which was just some roof tiles slapped onto it with some glass.
For the planting i want to do atleast one area with the domestic packs veggies as an implied roof top farm where the zoo grows some of their own veggies, while also dedicating a bit to lots of different flowers as habitat for local insects aswell as an insect hotel.
Thats it from me today, wish me luck that in my next session the lag gods will be kinder to me

Not bad, honestly. I think it's just right as it is. A perfect filler animal. If you for some reason wanna replace them, I'd personally go with tortoises
I can´t wait to put Quokkas in my Aussie Outback habitat and Tasamanian Devil in my main zoo( i have an habitat for them since 5 months ago lol)

Wow, the graphics are amazing. I hope to very soon finish putting this desktop together so I can see the game like this

Tried to get everything done but the outdoor cage so I can just get in, add the new foliage and upload the episode in the same day, unfortunately I didn’t have the time.

I still have the indoor area left to do as well, so this exhibit probably won’t open until Wednesday. I’m always welcome to feedback for some design improvements.

Didnt have much time today so i just did some more interior work for the gorilla house. I decided that instead of a second holding area for a baechlour group to turn the left side of the house into a staff area, with a look in kitchen, aswell as an exhibit. I also painfully realised that all of africas exhibit animals are pretty lame, so i just used the boa constrictor as an implied african rock python. There was a gap in the floor that the path refused to fill, but thankfully i am indeed a smart man at times, so i used the space for one of the education items instead. Im not the biggest fan of their looks, but its fine and also fits with the snake next to it, so its neat enough.

I didn't take any pictures, but added in the Kiwi and the Devil to my "main" zoo....oooh boy. It's lagging bad. It took a long while to get them in and set up. I think this zoo is about to be finished since it looks like I can't add too much more in without it being unplayable. Have the Wolverine habitat rough drafted in but otherwise I'm going to have to call it done on this one. Maybe some decorating...maybe not depending on how it runs.

Given that the Oceania map is useless to me, I've started a new zoo in Scotland again (Kinross Zoo, my usual go-to name).

I've used some workshop items. The interior of the Zoo-Venir shop is by @Shiftzie (thanks!), and the Zoo Tyoon 1 Elephant Fountain is by a Steam user by the name of GiornoPizza. This is probably the most detailed zoo entrance area I've ever built, because honestly I hate detailing. This has taken me all day by virtue of the fact that I have to keep leaving and coming back to avoid half-assing it.

The plant pallet will remain the same throughout the zoo. I'm not great at landscaping so I prefer these haphazard "wild gardens" over deliberately-placed and well-ordered flowers and such. I've used the Lady Fern, Flowered Siberian Peashrub, Common Saltwort, and Dog Rose Bush, which makes quite a pleasing mix I think.

Only staff facility I'm missing is a vet clinic (out of the ones Sandbox actually needs, that is). I did attempt to make my own custom doors/windows for parts of it but, again, detailing sucks. I've subscribed to some Animal Doors on the workshop (by Mesanii) that I'll probably use for backstage buildings when I get around to adding habitats, and some neat little decorative nest boxes (by Zimfira) too.

Anyway, once I've put in a vet clinic...somewhere, I need to decide on my first habitat. I'm feeling low-budget for this zoo with a few high-budget "big ticket" inclusions. I'd like to use the bubble dome as well, so maybe meerkats (my usual starter) or prairie dogs.

Terraformed the new island map to my liking, cried a bit that there is no inlet to place a realistic European ship spawner, and made rough null barrier habitats for all the species I want to add and placed them. Will work on buildings and stuff tomorrow, before landscaping
