What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Since Ovonia Park is located somewhere in North America, the American alligator is of course present at the park. They have a quite natural habitat but there's no underwater viewing area this time.

There's a covered bridge that splits the lake on two different habitats. Alligators live on one side only.

More rocks! Near that first basalt rocks there is an collection of basalt columns in a sort of curving motion. As we can guess, this is next to the volcano as this area is showcasing lots of different rocks formed by volcanic activity. Basalt columns and sedimentary rock layering will be the stars of this area, the volcano and sedimentary rock work is nearing completion. Like the waterfall these basalt rocks are made of a single faux rock, the rectangle faux rock is easily copy pasted to provide enough difference in texture without feeling too out of place.

I've made a Flamingo Enclosure once with a Basalt like Barrier. I can recommend stacking that one Faux Rock that has a (I think) pentagonal Shape. Really satisfying Formations you can get from that one. Can send a Picture of it later, if you want

This week's challenge of making an erupting volcano is now complete, probably the only use i'll ever have for the volcanic rocks and lava pieces since i don't often come across a volcano in the average real zoo. Obviously the real zoo doesn't actually have an erupting volcano (it has a smaller dormant volcano) but why not? It looks cool and even better with dinosaurs surrounding it . So basically a mound of volcanic rocks with 3 seperate lava flows - 2 are on the side which fall into a vent beside the guest path while the third is the main lava flow which becomes a cooled lava bed to highlight the geology theme of creating volcanic layers in rocks.

An important part of my recreations is often trying to make as much elements of the zoo available on the workshop for everyone to use. A different approach is being used for the calgary zoo where I am going to compile everything, literally everything i can make a blueprint that the average person can use easily. From huge builds like the volcano, transmisson tower and waterfall, to assorted foilage, fences, rockwork and path decorations. Likely the huge pieces will be their own blueprint while all the assorted small parts will be part of a mega-blueprint.

Overview of the collected blueprints so far, each time i build a new area, more will be added to the collection:
