Interior work has started in the small animal building in the houston zoo, the entrance animals are some static banded archerfish and a catfish in a tropical themed tank. Maybe making an aquarium in the game isn't impossible after all.

That is a sweet aquarium! I love building them in this game, I put them in almost all of my zoos. If you don’t mind me asking where you got the catfish or did you make it yourself?? I have been floundering (lol) since all of the fish went missing from the workshop as I am nowhere near talented enough to make my own

I can build many things but custom animals isn't one of them lol. All static animals featured in my builds are from the workshop.

The catfish I used:

There is also another better made catfish aswell but didn't match the species I needed:

While I'm at it, the archerfish came from the large aquarium pack:

Thanks!! I love the big aquarium pack, they are all so good. I will upload some of the aquariums using it i have made later to my other post. Just wish there were more freshwater species, but beggars can't be choosers, especially with god knows how long those things take to make

Struggling HARD with the game's climbing system. Making a relatively simplistic habitat out of wood and bamboo, spanning over a river. Or so I THOUGHT. Half of the climbing frame doesn't work and the monkeys just will not recognize that they can move from the bamboo to the ground, even when the green lines go all the way down.
Tearing my hair out of my head at this point.

I've learnt the hard way over the years, I now place the animals first and slowly build ensuring they like the climbing frame, if not change the material before it's late. Looks great though, even if it doesn't work.

Yeah... I'm going to have to bite the bullet and start from scratch. I love this game to death but climbing animals in general just kill me. Even if the thing you build works, they just hang around on the ground anyway. My damn orangutans haven't touched most of their climbing frame in over a century, even when it's completely functional...

You can see the green lines are broken in places on pretty much every piece. Concentrate on fixing those bits. It will take ages but you can fix this

Got overwhelmed working on my big zoo, so i started a smaller side project to hopefully improve my buildings for the main one. It is based in Montana, so a lot of the animals will require indoor areas, which will hopefully be good practice for me.

Anyways, it is called Kootenai Wilds Zoo. It is going to include a large area for local Montana species, a similarly but not quite as large area focused on Asian Highlands, an Australia house, a small African area featuring a carnivore house, a polar area, and a Komodo dragon house. So far just working on the layout and the entrance building but it has been nice to mix it up and let my other zoo breathe a bit

I've gone back to it and placed new climbing stuff all over, working much slower. So far so good, but yeah as you said, it takes a loooooooooot of time!
