What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Not much that I did today but changed the rockwork in the komodo dragon habitat and started landscaping it.

I don't have much confidence that many of the animals in the new pack, whatever it is, will fit into this zoo, though the Hamadryas baboon will be featured of course.
Nevermind, African spurred tortoise will fit in well too.

Quick detour back to Tarrabah Conservation Centre in Franchise mode though, the zoo's plans of housing a Goodfellow's tree kangaroo unfortunately fell through, but they were able to acquire a colony of the rare spectacled flying fox to display in their place! This simple outdoor aviary is inspired by several grey-headed flying-fox enclosures I've seen IRL.

The lack of a tree kangaroo just makes me appreciate the flying fox all the more tbh, it was already my favourite exhibit animal just for being an Australian bat, but it's great to still have another Australo-Papuan rainforest animal to house alongside the cassowary and crocodile.

Well, I know how many mods I'll have to use. One idea I have is for a sort of zoo-standard wallaby/kangaroo walkabout but featuring a waterfowl pool of black swans, Cape Barren geese, and Australian wood ducks.

Still unsure about how the layout of my aquarium should look like, but i know i want to have some museum aspects to it aswell. So what better thing to add than a little fossil collection of prehistoric marine animals.
The stenopterygius was good practice for skeletons, as i really want to have a whale skeleton hanging from the ceiling in the main entrance hall.

This is so creative, great job!

After the challenge I was left with a profitable zoo .. so .. I converted it to be my new T-Z zoo which was just finishing it's 5th version. Hopefully version 6 will work out.
With the combination of lions, wolves and 2 primates the combination of wages and animal food usually start causing issues later down the line. So will have to wait and see.

With what is most likely our final pack right behind the corner, I have decided to start working on my "newest" zoo...I first started playing Planet Zoo in early 2020, before the South America Pack dropped. My first zoo was entirely Africa-themed, and while it didn't look all that good I have very fond memories of it. Unfortunately, I must have accidentally deleted the save file back in 2021, because I remember wanting to add meerkats and rhinos to it but not being able to find it anywhere...Now that the game is coming to an end and that we're getting four more African animals, I think it's only right to go back to my roots and rebuild my first ever zoo from scratch, incorporating all of the new animals and pieces that we got over the past years.
Of course I had to start from an entrance.
My first zoo had no entrance at all, just a premade bathroom next to a tortoise pen, but for this reboot I had to make the most awesome and over-the-top entrance ever...

That looks great

How many metres long is that? The existing 10 metre or so long skeleton on the workshop is rather basic. Looks to be one of the best whale skeletons I've seen made ingame.
I mean to be fair that one was made in 2019, and for that time its impressive. The options for small parts was just very limited back then. The oceania driftwood really carried hard here, nice and organic with a texture that can easily pass as bone

Oh I just noticed that, fair enough to the person for making that back then. Never thought about about using the driftwood for bone textures, gives me some ideas for my zoo builds.
