What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

View attachment 390819View attachment 390820View attachment 390821Today I built for the saigas the first time. I am quite happy about the habitat. On the opposite side, I will build for polar bears. Tbh, I don’t know, what the horses make here, but I needed another Animal, and I already have reindeers and dall sheep in my zoo. If you have a better Idea, which animal fit next to the saigas, pls say it.
Bactrian camel and/or wild horse? They life in roughly the same area

I started building my India section in my zoo (layout, pathing, space and back of house buildings):

And I started building an enclosure for my very first Indian animal, Elham the striped hyena:

In the showcase pictures of the barnyard dlc we saw a "tractor" which is just the safari jeep colored dark green. So I took that "tractor" and made it a little more tractor like. The first of the modern line of tractors I intend on building is a Fendt tractor from the 1990's, which when scaled to real life proportions towers over the safari jeep.

I made 2 versions of this tractor, a narrow tire version and a standard tire version, the wide tyres are a bit overkill for a zoo tractor so I didn't bother with that.

Started a zoo today for the first time in forever, and boy is it slow going. I think the Barnyard DLC will come in handy for it, though. I haven't taken a screenshot of anything yet, because I've only done the entrance building and quite honestly it looks like ass at the moment. Needs detailing. Might even rebuild it entirely. Not sure yet. I'm only planning on including two themed sections in this zoo - Africa because IMO it's the most fun to do that for, and a small section for a grey seal breeding programme and African penguins. The rest of the zoo will be a total grab bag and thematically disconnected, at least for now. I am considering a third Oceania section as well but we'll see how it goes.

Once the Barnyard Pack is out this will be the first time I will ever use the llama. TBH I like alpacas better in general but since I've been protesting the llama for this long as literally the only barnyard animal in the game, I feel like I kind of have to give it a chance now. That said every place in NZ that has a significant domestic animal presence includes both anyway. I'll probably do a British-style barn in the centre with the keeper hut hidden inside, and have the paddocks arrayed around it, with those chickens running around the whole thing. Since the zoo is based in Scotland as usual, the highland cattle is an obvious must, but I'll do the goat and pig as well.

Haha didnt even think of that till now :D
Poor llama was longing for an environment to exist in as the games only farm animal for so long, and now that its here everybody is gonna use the alpaca instead

Ok, Moonshine Ranch VI has begun construction. I was having trouble what to do (screenshots later), but I finally added the 1st habitat, and an animal I've never actually used: dall sheep. I still have no idea where I'm gonna go with the zoo; I'm mostly tryna kill time until the Barnyard pack comes out

Tbh the lama with its rougher look still works just fine as part of a south american area and its kinda crazy to me how underused it is in that context.
SA is lacking space filler and most people ignoring the best option for that ingame is wild to me

Just had a look at an old small park which I made about 2 years ago.It is mainly meant for children.
Now the animals for that park are coming to the game I wanted to know if it still is worth it to pick it up again.
And the conclusion ended up te be positive, so I will go back to an old game and 'modernise' it by adding some animals fot which that little park was really made!

Finally finished my entry banners! I settled on a more cohesive style so I redid a few and made some edits in addition to the new ones. Time to take a break and draw some other stuff/go back to actually working on the zoo lmao. Gonna try and tell the perfectionist in me to shut it and move on from these buggers - though no guarantee. I'll prolly make some more art to put into this zoo later, maybe some educational signs or something. :>

I really regret not using mxds earlier, because... boy, bringing back all these wonderful creatures man has annihilated makes me happy. Even though it's not real, I can't deny it makes the world a little better for me right now. And I absolutely adore @Leaf Productions and @Narwhaler 's stuff. I love you guys! .... in a platonic way of course x)
Don’t know if you can post pictures of mods on here, it gets kinda iffy on where the line for promoting mods and talking about them is. Just a friendly reminder

Holy crap everything about that is absolutely on point for a major New Zealand zoo. Well done.

Petting Zoo progress, 4 of the species now done (just need shelter interiors) and now working on the donkeys - alpacas and highland cattle afterwards. Plan to be finished and uploaded by Wednesday, can't wait to see all the new species!

Not some of my most detailed works but definitely will do the job of making a nice home for the domestics.
