Got a little frustrated with Didgeri•Zoo. I spent tons of time on my little Penguin entrance habitat only for the placeholder African penguins to decide to stop deep diving and only paddle around on the surface somewhere along the build, despite the water depth being 5.5 meters and the traversable area all being blue throughout the entire habitat. No idea where it happened so I’m gonna have to delete everything and start over. So, while I mourn, I headed back to Alden Woods to practice my realism and work on the new Asian area. The first habitat belongs to the Japanese Macaques.
Originally this bulding was at the front of the zoo and only contained the temperate half. The taiga half was a modular gift shop, but I really wanted to make them a hot springs and there just wasn’t enough space so I blueprinted the building, moved it to the back of the zoo, deleted the gift shop and here is the finished result.
They have 3 nesting sites thoroughout and as much climbing space as ground space. 2 of the nesting areas are in the cold side, both with heat lamps, and one is at ground level with one-way glass for guests to see them sleeping.
They’ll be joined in neighboring habitats by Amur Leopards, Asian small clawed otters, and shared habitats for bactrian camels and Przewalski’s horse, and then red panda and binturong. Might add giant panda but that will be dependent on how I’m doing on the build limit.
