What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Would you be so kind to upload the frame to steam? 🫣 I suck at making aviaries. I take everyone i can get 😂
I just uploaded it if you are still interested: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3422937542

This is how I complete the inclined sides using the mesh barrier:

I am so in love with the Australia/South America bundle!!! So much so that I paused the zoo I started a few weeks ago to start a whole new zoo. Welcome to Didgeri•ZOO. It’s a grasslands zoo that will feature African and Australian species with an African Savannah safari ride and an Australian walk-a-bout. A series of rainforest domes featuring a primate sanctuary will take center stage.

Today I started working on the main entrance area. The first photo is the real life inspo.

I’ll be using African Penguins as the entrance habitat placeholder until the Little Penguins become available when we get the Oceania pack at the end of March. Then the African Penguins wil get their own habitat somewhere else in the zoo.

question: anyone want to download my zoo from the workshop and help me break through this creative slump? I feel like I'm challenging myself too much and might need some fresh spark. It's called 'Bollo Bollo' on there and my current challenge is regarded the huge swath of land on the left. Which I have vague plans for

After some time I wanted to share an overview of my zoo. Haven't done much building lately, but the outer lines of the zoo have now been set. As you can see most work is to be done on the right and top side of the picture. Bottom right I'm making an indoor building for penguins with on the left of it an exhibit for Arctic foxes. The lake you see will be used for grey seals. As you might see, a part of the path is missing. Will connect the paths via a bridge and the small part on the right side of it will be inside the reindeer exhibit. With rocks however the seals will not be able to enter the exhibit, but it gives the guests some nice views of two different species at the same time. Above it will be where the Central/South American section will come and the top side will be the European area with a large mixed exhibit with wisents, red deers, European fallow dear and wild boars. Around it will be multiple exhibits. Finally the part on the left I've marked with stones will be the North American section with raccoons, beavers and skunks.

I finally found the strength to finish the career modes again on hard mode. I had originally done them on medium when the game came out. When I found out they added hard mode (and achievements), I had no strength to go through it all over again. But enough time has passed and I decided to finish the job (also to get 38/38 :D). Most scenarios were easier this time with the experience of how to build a zoo already there. Hiring Freeze still gave me some troubles. Also I found out I have been making a zoo on the wrong side of the entrance for Greener Pastures like all the times I have played it. I'm planning on doing that one again and actually keep playing in it to make a good zoo out of it. The extra challenge with the limitations seems interesting to me.

Also the last leg was sooo much easier this time, I remember it being such a pain when I played it years ago, but this time I took it slow and it was really easy.

Got a little frustrated with Didgeri•Zoo. I spent tons of time on my little Penguin entrance habitat only for the placeholder African penguins to decide to stop deep diving and only paddle around on the surface somewhere along the build, despite the water depth being 5.5 meters and the traversable area all being blue throughout the entire habitat. No idea where it happened so I’m gonna have to delete everything and start over. So, while I mourn, I headed back to Alden Woods to practice my realism and work on the new Asian area. The first habitat belongs to the Japanese Macaques.

Originally this bulding was at the front of the zoo and only contained the temperate half. The taiga half was a modular gift shop, but I really wanted to make them a hot springs and there just wasn’t enough space so I blueprinted the building, moved it to the back of the zoo, deleted the gift shop and here is the finished result.

They have 3 nesting sites thoroughout and as much climbing space as ground space. 2 of the nesting areas are in the cold side, both with heat lamps, and one is at ground level with one-way glass for guests to see them sleeping.

They’ll be joined in neighboring habitats by Amur Leopards, Asian small clawed otters, and shared habitats for bactrian camels and Przewalski’s horse, and then red panda and binturong. Might add giant panda but that will be dependent on how I’m doing on the build limit.

Finally finished the Kiwi Habitat right beside the Zoo Shop and the Hillside Farm on Jenta Zoo.
Which includes one petting area with the Alpine Goat and Hill Radnor.
And Habitats for American Standard Donkey, Tamworth Pig and Highland Cattle.

Now moving to the next project. A old style building located behind the Hillside Farm.
The building will house sloth, Giant Galapagos Turtle, spectacled Caiman, saltwater crocodile and some Aviary Animal not sure how many.

Its a kind of reptile House but i am still missing a name. Any suggestions?

Have a great day ! :)

So i lied.

This is how far i got with the hard shelter / backstage are before getting bored out of my mind and going back to working on landscaping... and making a whole new armadillo enclosure with underground viewing.

I'd love to see more of your builds! Prettiest landscaping I've seen in a while!
Today has been a day of terraforming and planting... I hate terraforming... though I am happy with the results.

I like terraforming! Its the most I do in the game actually. Since I don't play as much as I would like.

I had no idea how I was going to extend Kelbrook Zoo, and after much thought, I decided to change the theme from Purple and dark colours to green and more light colours.

Here are some screenshots of some of the areas I have already done, the entrance is first (old to new):

I know changing the theme of my giant zoo sounds crazy and a lot of work (it is) but I think this is a great chance for me to improve the older areas and add the extra realism where it is needed. (Edit: please ignore the empty space behind the bats in the green theme picture, that is one of the areas I have deleted and need to rebuild 😅)

I managed to redo the gorilla enclosure in Kelbrook Zoo. The indoor area was built by past me; however, present me is struggling to build an outdoor climbing area for them. If anyone has any suggestions on where and how I could add one, I would really appreciate it 🙂 I do wonder if I need one outside as there is currently a huge tree they can climb (yet again please ignore the unfinished areas of the zoo as the refurbishment project of the whole zoo is still ongoing):

Since I wanted to change my foliage style, have decided to leave my old project for now and started a new one... The first exhibit of the zoo will be a splitted exhibit for meerkats and warthogs. As I want a more heavy foliage style, also the walls will be covered where possibile. The roof of the building will probably change and the walls are there just to keep the meerkats in to test the traversable area. Boy was I happy to see that blue line going inside!

Im 80% sure you can also use the tunnel enrichment item to allow meerkats to go through walls. Just as a little work around :)
