What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

That's a nice little park
This looks beautiful!
Thank you both :)
This Park looks really nice. The Enclosures look so Beach like🙂
Maybe next (if it is possible) a Beach themed Enclosure for Giant Otters with a Beach Ball and Deck Chairs if you want to keep that Design Direction. I'm really excited to see more
Thank you too!
I didn't really want to build too themed, but time will tell :) I'll probably pick up on your idea later.
that pathwork is amazing btw
Thank you too. (I think I'm repeating myself, lol)
The path system makes me really crazy. I've only spent an hour on this half-round thing at the entrance area o_O...

Day 2

Since the beetles drove me a bit crazy, I simply deleted the vivarium o_O
While the game was bobbing around, I filled the gaps with plants and scenery.

A third enclosure was needed, this time I opted for a pair of mute swans and a few small mouth bass. Unfortunately mods, so I can only show you the enclosure later in the overview. I think it's ok there, the mods can only be seen as white and dark spots.

The 4th enclosure should be one for llamas. i just like this cutie animals. Their shelter looks a bit like a farm building. I like how it comes out. I bought 1 male and 4 female, i think.

Aaaaand the balance sheet for day two

(here you can also see the lake for the swans and also a bit of what I built on day 3 :) )

I'm amazed how quickly I got the money back, I'm thinking about giving something away to make it more interesting.

I know this is a little thing, but it shows how very basic and untalented I am at design. I finally created a perfect circle. Also working on this new Franchise zoo, so now I have 10 (9 really since one I don't play as franchise anymore), franchise zoos going. I'm hoping to just do a general theme zoo here, with animals I like. First habitat Meerkats, the perfect circle will be Red Pandas. Sorry for the rainy picture.

😍 I will never be able to build/design that good

There's a really nice Trick how to do this

But if this is for some weird Reason too hard for you, you can also activate Angle Snap when you place Paths

Yup, it was too difficult for me - I have many "almost" perfect circles, and I recently found out what angle snap does, and after a few attempts I got it. Sometimes I feel silly for not realizing these things sooner, but I'm glad I finally figured it out.

ha. that video was definitely not the trick lol

Day 3

On day 3 I really wanted to build an aviary, that's pretty much the only thing I've managed. It has eaten up quite a bit of time. At first it only consisted of 2 parts, but that was too small for the gentlemen. So I added a third part.
I like the way it looks and it was a real fiddling xD I had to take several breaks because the barrier and the path made me go crazy! but after 2 chocolate bars it worked again. choci makes everything better!

I also "sorted out" some of the animals.
Unfortunately, the 6 flamingos from the beginning have already left the zoo.
2 Kroko babies have grown up, the male has left the zoo.
And some llamas have moved into the trading center.
I am also in the process of removing the fish because the offspring are simply too big.

That was day 3

I’m currently travelling and won’t get to play the game for a while. I hope I can remember how to work the controls…

I always have lots of ideas for zoos and am always making notes for possible projects. Recently I have been thinking of three different zoos:

1. a mountain zoo specialising in Nordic (hope we will get them one day) and cold climate animals in Norway.

2. a zoo in Sweden with a general collection focussing on large animals in open enclosures.

3. a smaller city zoo set in Denmark.

I couldn’t decide which to do so I thought whoever does best in the men’s Olympic handball will be the choice. Sweden were knocked out and Denmark just knocked out Norway this morning so a Danish city zoo will be my next project!

10/10 problem solving right here

I've been putting the finishing touches around the new area by placing lighting, bins, plants, etc.

So now the huge Africa area is complete, and there are also the Australian and European zones already done. However, my Zarpa zoo is going to take a break before building a new area until we know what the next DLC is. The zoo is already getting too big for my laptop :(

Today i did some work on my rhinohouse, mostly by covering the last blank spot. I decided to turn it into an aviary, but after a bit of thinking and the superb oportunity to add an outdour enclosure, i switched it a bit around to make it the indoor section for 2 clouded leopards instead.
Funnily enough, the area were im building it was originally plant as a hillside with habitats for asian carnivores (originally dholes, sunbears and clouded leopards) and i never actually did it, but after 150 hours later and still not having build habitats for clouded leopards and sunbears, this plan will nicely mark the westside corner of my zoo.

This is the view from above, duh, and in the theming of my zoo the rhinohouses mainfunction is to be the transitionzone between the more tropical animals south of it around the tropical house and the taiga and tundra animals above. The three animals connected to the house are the indian rhino (big right habitat), himalayan brownbear (big habitat on the top) and the clouded leopard (little one in the bottom left).
The other important thing thats not really important anymore as the zoo isnt a franchise anymore, but made me build it in the first place is, that it is one of the main staff hubs in the zoo and features close access to about a fifth of the habitats in my zoo.

This is the view over the whoule habitat of the clouded leopards, i personally really like how the rhino house looks in the background and am overall really happy with the habitat.

Across the path are multiple little viewing galleries, this one i had in mind for kids specificly.
parder 2.jpeg

The indoorpart is quite moddest, only containing some climbing frames, but playing into the feel of a little oasis of multiple little huts, that most prominently features one of the 3 main food stations of the zoo.

It is me again, with some light planning. I finally came to term with how i want to finish up my asian section. Of the 7 still unused animals in the game (cause damn i want/need more asian animals, god damn it) i choose the sunbear, asian elephant and maybe also give probuscis monkey an entry to the female elephant.
I figured these would be best, as i dont want pandas and the formosan blackbear strikes out as i dont want two bears next to each other. If i could dream i would have the slothbear, but i cant and the sunbear is good enough i guess. Saltwater crocodile fealt unfitting for the theming i had in mind and the cassowary was kinda iffy to begin with.

Right now the plan is to put in the green splace next to the path the sunbear, the light earth and the area above it for a male elephant yard and stable, the brown for the female yard with stables above and the rock for something like a historical stable turned monkeyhouse with the interior for the monkeys and maybe a bit of a "show of" stable for the female elephants. As im really scraping the bottle of the barrel of asian animals, i noticed that the animals i wish most for for asia is an ungulate species, as we only have 1 in the reindeer, preferably i would have liked for my zoo the gaur and the nilgai and would have used them instead of the sunbear, as well as a second monkey species like a hulman or the rhesus macaque.

I started the Arctic section of my zoo. Maybe I rename and expand the section to a North American one if the next dlc is North American.
But for now this is my plan:
3sjTd3d.png

It gonna be a really difficult construction. As you can see I want to have an underwater tunnel in both, the seal and polar bear pond.
And then my other goal is to create an Arctic panorama with the seals in the foreground, then the bears and the dall sheep on a mountain in the background.
I don't know if it turns out as I want but we'll see. :)
