What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Well, after my real-life visit to the zoo today, when I get back imma work on my NZO cat reserve to boost my CCs in franchise. I'm gonna bring in some nyalas, but then I will be stuck and am not sure what to do next.

So, I'm dividing each section with 1 cat and 2 other habitats. Here's what I got so far:

Entrance area - lemurs, alligators, Bengal tigers
Pumas - pumas, 2 Chinese pangolin enclosures, 2 small exhibit animals (bullfrogs & terrapins)
Africa - cheetahs, The Grassland #1 (featuring Konig's giraffes and warthogs from a zoo he lost to protesters), The Grassland #2 (I'm gonna add nyalas)

What should I do next? I'm missing 3 more cats (clouded leopards, lions, jaguars). And, for each cat, what 2 habitats should I add?

Unless it's desert, taiga, or tundra I'm think a tropical South American section. Jaguar with the Tapir and Anteater would be my picks. Sounds like a really great start by the way!

It's set in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. Also, I have 2 anteaters in storage that I had gotten for Zoo Santa Fe (Argentina), but maybe I'll move Konig's anteaters to the zoo in Mexico, instead

The European area of Zarpa is being prepared for some changes. I have removed the Dall sheep, the pronghorns, the pumas and the babirusas. All of them were pretending to be other animals, so they are going to be replaced soon.

Also, a new terrarium is being built inside one of the buildings.

Wait, do you live in Alicante, Spain? Random question, but are you familiar with APASA, Asociacion Protectora de Animales de San Antonio?

Lions - wildebeests + hyenas.
Clouded leopards - sun bears + proboscis monkeys.

I've just realized what ZARPA means, good word game! ;)
And I guess those blue tile roofs are the typical from Alicante? I like them. Although, a bit discordant with the modern wood entrance, maybe?

Constantly amazed by the amazing builds in here. I wish I had a tenth of the talent. But we've also talked about the smaller things too, and just sharing what I worked on tonight - utility covers. I will incorporate it into Jamestown Zoo since i still have hide those a bit. But these also work as stands, though I should note they're on the 2 meter height not 4 meter. The concept is basically the same for the walls but I switched up the roofs and the plants based on the intent of use. Adding in the plants with the idea of scenery improvement, which isn't as necessary for shop other type of covers. I do also have a few more themes to work on.

In the glass domed pieces, I would love to have a shorter version of these as well. Everything on those seems to just be geared for the 4 meter radius. Mainly talking about the one on the far right. While the dome can actually be shorter with the two meter dome, it's still just as wide of a radius. I'd love to have a piece that pulls that dome in tighter, as that's really the only thing I was unhappy with here.

Simple builds- that's me. But despite me now putting those unsightly "naked" buildings down now, that's actually good for me. Because I have no intention of leaving them that way and will work to cover them up in my own way even if it's mostly just simple. Whereas before I would just use the prefabs.

Alicante is a Mediterranean city and white and blue are the colours of the city. There are many Mediterranean villages where you find lots of white buildings and blue roofs.

I built a modern entrance for the whole zoo, but maybe I should have done an entrance that matches the first area instead.

Thank you all for your comments!

I started building a large gift shop near the front of my zoo, focusing primarily on a set of faux elevators that conceal a set of stairs to make it look like they function... I must say, I'm rather proud of how it all turned out, but this just makes me wish we had actual elevators even more...

Cool. You know what you could also do? I remember in ZT2 that the kiosks had 2 designs per theme. Classic was blue or red roofs, for example.
Maybe do the same? Make a 2nd design for each theme you have there for variety

That's a good idea. now that I have an idea of the general schematics to use for utility covers I can make more. And also just up it from 2 meter heights to 4 meter heights for regular booths. Gonna wait til the update though to see how those new shop set ups are - the ones that are not actual stalls.

The logo is beautiful, @darthquell !

I started a new Tundra franchise yesterday. My current zoo was hitting its limit in terms of performance, so I can't see another habitat being added there. I made a first habitat for the beavers and am currently preparing a little meerkat house. This time, I try to leave a bit more space for decoration and guest paths between the habitats and rather go for a smaller, but well-decorated zoo. I already have ideas for restaurants and made space for a food truck. And of course I will give the new animals a try on tuesday. I have one week left at home before I go to my parents', so I have to make use of those days :D

I really love the beauty of the snow in the game, but it is absolutely horrible to build and create habitats.

Wow, thanks, you guys.
As you can tell from that, my profile logo, and many other graphics, I enjoy the color purple and thylacines...

@Swjosdotschka, if you have the right tools, it's not hard at all. Just a taste of what I do:
For fonts, I visit a website called FontMeme. There are many different fonts, from things like a Super Mario font to 60's fonts to even the Planco font.
On that same site, you can write whatever you want and make it any color (experimenting is key here). If you want the font to have an effect, like bending or having a reflection, the same website offers that, as well. Best part is: IT'S FREE.

After I get a font, I search online for PNGs of whatever image I wanna use (PNGs because it won't affect the background). After I download that, I head on over the Canva, a free program where I can make things like this.
(By the way, Canva itself has it's own list of fonts and images/PNGs to use, as well.)

I do this all on my phone, then transfer it to my laptop to use for PZ

Thanks for the great advices. darthquell! I'll definately give that a try ones the muse hits me and I know what fits for my zoos. :)

Currently browsing to Murmeldorf, my german Tierpark, and try to get into it again. I don't know what killed the motivation for it, but since basically all animals from the europe pack fit there (but no where else), I want to at least try to get the park rolling again. ^^

It's also basically the only thing I can do today - detailing and browsing. Got my booster vaccine yesterday, had a fever the whole night and feel like poop now. (I know from expierience that tomorrow will be better, but uuuugh, the thought of having this every 6 month from now on is annoying).

Felt the same way; I had a migraine for 2 days
