What do you want in Elite: Dangerous?

I "want" to be able to create my own colony, either in space or on a planet. To develop an economy either in a carrier, a (star)port, or on a planet. People suck, so I "want" this all to be available to the solo player, as well as anyone who needs to play the game with others. I feel Frontier can progress toward this by not disregarding the game-play preferences of the people that actually pay their salaries. Carriers bought by a Solo Player would be a good start. In the event Frontier actually deviates from the initial thoughts on Solo Players owning a Carrier, I have been acting as a space bus, and have gotten my credits above $5B finally. I'm Elite in all but Combat, have my Cutter Imperial rank, and one away from my Corvette rank. I've also been working on unlocking all the Engineers, so I'm currently turning in Combat Bonds, which I suck at. I like to explore every few months or so. I like to Mine, but until mining is more rewarding, I have stored my refinery.

You didn't axe for it but something I could care less about is "space legs", as I don't see the point in being able to walk over here or over there, going into a bar, going into your quarters, walking in a station, shooting more stuff. Seems like a waste of programming time. Having the players actually create an economy on a carrier, base, or planet seems like a more interesting direction for Frontier to go, and I hope that is the thought by Frontier. Carrier ownership is the first step in that plan imo.

I want them to sell DLC story packs with voice over, cutscenes, unique moments, for the single-players and to help fund a move to more persistent universe, multiplayer capability. And it's going to need atmospheric landings pretty soon.

Straight forward, I am kinda interested in what players want in Elite: Dangerous. Do you want a new ship? Do you want to battle a Thargoid? Or maybe just a huge pile of credits? Do you want to become good in combat and/or PvP? Do you want to fully engineer a ship/fleet? Do you want to get all the ranks to Elite and Admiral/Knight? maybe discover distant, unseen stars and planets so you can put your name on it?

And the next but most important question: Do you feel you are progressing towards that? How do you get there or what keeps you from getting there?

Aiming towards the discovery of a general problem (or multiple) here (if they exist) so guides and advice will be more helpful for a greater audience.

Most of all I want more "fun"

I think the Q4 update addresses a lot of this with the CODEX, Carriers and other improvements, but I'd also like to see:

- Mission payouts make sense for all professions, including for Wings / Multicrew too.
- Mixing of Wings and MC, as well as more paying professions/roles for crew members
- Better quest system - the last Ram Tah mission was close to a real quest that could be done solo or with freinds

- The galaxy to feel a bit more dangerous. Systems that make you think twice before jumping into them, like the old anarchy systems used to.
- More of an ongoing story that affects the galaxy (not single player or anything) i.e. more than just galnet stories and the occasional CG / entirely optional USSs/NHSSs. Proper wars that last more than a tick and have an on-going effect on regions of space. More danger, but higher rewards. Proper military missions that while maybe insignificant overall, make you feel part of the conflict....
- FURRY DICE!

With the amount of time I've recently been playing (digging that VR), and with the changes coming soon and in Q4, I think I'll want/need more time. Maybe a 30 hour day, then?

Ye want me bucket list? I wanna see beagle point before this year is out...currently stuck on the choice of which ship Im gonna take as it was originally gonna be a T10, but Im currently having an elite love affair with the cutter so...result bein Im stuck in the bubble thinking about it in times when its quiet and the caffeine is wearing off and the weed is a haze so its already been a dreamy night/early morning and sleep is possible...

I ramble sometimes I know, but I enjoy it so at least one of us is happy.

I want me own place...there, I said it. A little place I can call whatever I like out somewhere where the scenery is nice, the canyons are deep and the hairpins are sharp where ye can go spend a few slf in. Id call it Bob Marley Memorial and leave it open to all who leave their troubles at the door on the way in and no guns, non negotiable.

Alas, base building mechanics are a bit of a hot potatoe in terms of how controversial it has been over the years, so fer the now, that one stays on the bucket list.

I wanna find something unique, something that nobody else has found...but it has to be by pure chance. Anything else would take away a chunk of what makes the experience unique. Chances of it happening on a particular grain of sand on a beach of 400 billion near identical grains of sand...just lol...bucket list fer this one too.

While Im a space gypsy at heart, Im starting to get more seriously into combat atm although I personally dont use external sites and enjoy learning by finding out what not to do by trying everything that its possible to try at least once. Im a tinkerer, I enjoy using weird setups that are very non meta setups and I enjoy finding the more extreme limits of those setups. Im trying to git gud as they call it...a term I find distasteful but others like it and thats what Im doin basically.

How far along I am with that...its a bit like asking someone how far along the tunnel ye are and yer reply is ye dunno cos ye never been in that tunnel before, but keeping going seems like a good idea at the time.

I dont want this game to entertain me, I am perfectly able to entertain meself...I want this game to inspire me to get back into role play, and crime and punishment interests me greatly I have to admit. I really enjoy playing the criminal aspect...its what Im good at and its the very thing I genuinely thought I would never see in this game...so thats a current want and all Ill say to frontier on that is...come and have a go if ye think yer hard enough, hope ye enjoy picking yer teeth up with broken fingers ^

Any of those things, really. Just want to fly a spaceship in this vast Galaxy.

However, Elite is trying to satisfy all types of players, but in the end none of them is fully satisfied. ( I guess Combat players have the most fleshed out gameplay elements compared to others..)
As they say, Jack of all trades - master of none. Just like they did in WoW, all these systems - pet battles, PvP, Raiding, Battlegrounds, Garrisons, Class Halls and many others - they are Apps. Separate entities, that hardly interact between each other. You could remove them from the game and the 'World' will not have any impact, except for one less of a thing to do.

I want caves I can drive in with my SRV or even fly in, to lay low or just relax. And find interesting stuff in. Not necessary riches, but you know "wow" moments.
